Model A Club | MotorWeek Over the Edge
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When you think of the Ford Model A, chances are you imagine one sitting in a museum or slowly putzing down a dusty road, well our “Over the Edge” guy Greg Carloss met up with a local car club that may change the way you think of these pieces of automotive history.

Amén Mr.
Cool old cars. It’s nice to see them driving and using them.
I have to say there's actually something rather calming about driving an older vehicle on a back road during nice weather, especially if you are not being pushed by others rushing around. The typical 20s / 30s car was designed to be at home around 25-30 mph... and that's where the throttle and brakes work best as well!
Great episode! I bought a new-to-me home this fall and getting things done before moving in. Planning to add a new garage on too. Then, hopefully, I'll have a space to tinker and keep a Model A.
kid: grandma, can i race you with my segway?
Driving these cars instead of a climate controlled viewing room? Fantastic!

Not a computer in sight. If there's ever an EMP bomb dropped, this car will still run.

Right. Maintain the Hell out of them and drive them. It's nice to preserve them but it's kind of like having a trophy, nice but not very useful. Drive them, they can handle it!
HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE ✌️
The best segment I've seen on MotorWeek in decades.

With the older vehicles the driver is more in control. With your typical modern car, the driver just points the car in the desired direction and the car does the rest.
Drag racing a Model A sounds super fun. You don’t get to super high speeds, and you can feel every little movement in the engine and road. Also it’s hilarious
❤️❤️ LOVE YOUR PRODUCTIONS 👏❤️
Faith. Tradition. History. Family. Model A.
Oh no, prohibition gangsters and bootleggers are back! Love it! 👏
That's beyond cool; people daily driving their A's. The one big nit I have against those rides were their terrible brakes.

Brakes work just as good as on a modern car if they are rebuilt and adjusted properly
So what's the quarter stats ? Otherwise very good with beautiful cars , especially the ladie's car .

assumin' speed topped out at 50 mph and averaged 46 mph, approx a mid 25 sec quarter.

15.5 seconds, 42mph in the 1/8th so actually better than a 4 cylinder automatic '87 mustang which could barely break 60 in the quarter. The A runs out of engine RPM before the quarter mile at full throttle.

@@tombryant1104 I'm 67 and before I was born my Dad had a 29 Model A . That would have been in the early 50's He told me that it would cruise along at around 40 to 45 mph . But if you tried to go faster it got a little shaky in the front end . He told me that he later regretted selling it .
I wouldn't have painted Rick Rubin as a Model A enthusiast but here we are
Thats right in Hagerstown? I want to try and catch their next meet.
I bet the 0-top speed time is still faster than the Chevy Chevette. :)
Holy shit, I know Warren!
Way too cool …

Are any of these vehicles 1980 Model A remakes that are on top of a Ford Pinto Chassis ?

Wasn’t Henry ford very antisemitic? Didn’t he receive an award from the nazis in the 30s and didn’t he make equipment for the nazis in wwii?
