Very nice - I didn't know one could grease the throwout bearing without removing the floor boards. Learned something 90 years later.

To bad dealerships don't treat their customers this way anymore instead of trying to screw them for every dollar they can. And before I point to many fingers, I blame the manufacturers as well.

They were masters at the art of screwing people. There were anti trust laws put in place because the big three auto manufacturers were so corrupt. And growing up (70's-80s) I can't remember my grandfather or my dad ever having anything nice to say about car dealerships or their shops. They thought they were all crooks. I'm friends with two of the last three dealers who sold me my cars. (The middle one was meh. I felt like a chump). My VW dealer is amazing. No bad things to say about them at all. I ordered my current car online, set up financing online and was in and out of the dealer in about 30 minutes. And they've done all warranty work and maintenance without gouging the crap out of me. The service woman, now a good friend who also owns a Model A always looks out for me. Times are changing. They need to be good in this digital, multi choice world or everyone will know and snub them. Not saying there aren't still crooks, but no way it's as bad as it was in the 30's.

Lots of fun. The car had six moving parts, but even then the companies stressed how complicated they were and how it's important to go back to the dealer for service!

My garage has been in business since the 1920’s although when the current owners retire I think it will close. They used to be a Maxwell dealer early on. Early cars had a lot of maintenance though and weren’t necessarily easy to work on. I just renewed the brake lining on my T and you have to take the trans apart to get at it.

@@davemckolanis4683 the A has a 3 speed trans and 4 wheel brakes because Chevy had it 😀 The transmission brake on the T works well enough but there is a pin in the drive shaft if I remember that is crucial. If that breaks you have no brakes in the T except the emergency brake but that won’t work very well.

A 80s évek elején tanultam az autó szerelő szakmát. Itt Kelet Európában az akkor használt autóknál ugyan ezeket a karbantartási műveleteket kellett elvégezni. A hadseregben dolgoztam mint szerelő őrmester. Hatalmas munkát igényelt a járművek karbantartása. A harckocsikról nem is szólva. Örömmel nézem ezeket a régi filmeket. Sajnos nálunk 1990 után nyílt lehetőség a nyugati technikai eszközök megismerése. Köszi a feltöltést. Thanks.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hardly anyone ever does auto maintenance when it's supposed to be done, if ever. Or if you have it done by your local mechanic they do a lousy job and charge for services they didn't do. That's why nothing ever lasts very long.
