It interesting to see how many criminal groups are somehow intertwined, such as the link between the Hoes group and the Tattookillers. And on their turn, the Tattoo killers are linked with the underworld of Twente (East of the Netherlands). And on their turn, there is a connection (not neccessary friendly) with the Satudarah Motor Club; the Chapter in the East of the Netherlands ("MiMa") but also the Chapter in Amsterdam (Etou’s). Etou’s is linked with the Martha Group It is interesting to see how many criminal groups are somehow intertwinted...

@@dododamz880 Indeed. Yet, in comparison to the American mafia, I stilll hold the view that many criminal groups in the Netherlands operates fully independent from each other. The criminal landscape of the Netherlands harbors a lot of criminal enterprisies. These groups can have common interests, but they still operate from each other with full autonomy and with little of no cooperation. There is no loose confederation, nor a commission like the American mafia, nor a large enterprise that dictates the criminal rule of law like Corsican mafia in France (especially in Marseille).

@@dododamz880Trupo (Josh Borlin): "From what I hear, it was the Corsicans. The French Connection, Fernando Rey, the exporters Frank has put out of business (2007)." The quote originates from the Hollywood crime movie "American Gangster", and it refers to the Corsican mafia-led liquidation attempt on the life of drug lord Frank Lucas. According to the movie, the reason behind the attemped murder is that Frank Lucas was directly buying pure heroin from a supplier in Southeast Asia and thus cutting the middlemen from his drug operations. This enraged the Corsican mafia, because he "put them out of business". "Le crime organisé corse" or Corsican mafia is an amalgation of different criminal groups and families who originated from Corse, an French-governed island in the Mediterranean (around 170 kilometers from the mainland). The Corsican mafia was established in the early 20th century, around 1910, almost 50 years after the creation of the Black Hand-led American Mafia and 67 years before the "Gentlemen of Cali" started their drug empire. Just as any (international) organized crime group, the Corsican mafia is involved in a lot of criminal activities, ranging from petty theft to infiltration into the French political system. However, their most famous endeavor was the foundation of the "French Connection" in the 1930s. Heroin paste from the Golden Triangle (South East Asia) was shipped into France via Turkey. In France, the heroin paste was refined into herion powder. This chemical process took place in different communes of France, but mostly in labs around the Riviera. The finished product was then shipped from the old port of Marseille to North America. The heroin powder was then sold wholesale to various American mafia families. Between the 1930s en 1970s, "the French connection" or the "Corsican connection" was perhaps the most succesfull drug trafficking operation. For example: at is peak in the 1960s, the "Union corse" or Corsican mafia-led drug operation was responsible for at least 80% of all the heroin that was smuggeled into the United States. Due to the Turkish ban on poppies and due to the rising demand for cocain, the "French Connection" was eventually dismantled in the seventies. Despite the lost of a highly profitable drug activity and despite an island war that cost the life of 102 members between 1980 en 2010, the Corsican mafia is still the most important criminal cartel in "Le Milieu" (the French underworld), due to their links with the political and economic elites of France. Because of these connections, the Corsican mafia can yield a vast amount of power within the French underworld. For example: it has said that every drug dealer on the streets of Marseille pays a commission of no less than 50% of their revenue to the Corsican mafia, so that the drug dealer can continue with his dealings.
