Welcome to my playthrough of the special Epilogue story for Pokémon Violet, a side story called "Mochi Mayhem"! In this special post-post-post-game story, we finally get to spend more time with the Zero Crew -- our friend group/Rivals from the main story, that being Arven, Penny, and Nemona -- as we head back to the land of Kitakami to visit one of our other Rival-friends, Kieran, in Mossui Town. However, what should be a fun little shenanigan-filled romp with old friends and new turns into something out of a 1980's horror movie, as the residents of Mossui Town find themselves uncontrollably doing the Chicken Dance and screaming about mochi! As more and more of the townspeople fall victim to this mysterious zombifying phenomenon seemingly revolving around a popular treat, it's up to us to save them -- and not become mindless mochi minions ourselves!
What's causing the sudden obsession with mochi and Chicken Dancing? Will I be the Final Girl (Final Enby?) of this horror flick? And just how does this all help me catch the new Mythical Pokémon I was promised? FIND OUT TODAY!!

Hey everyone, welcome to my playthrough of the special Epilogue episode of Pokemon Violet, "Mochi Mayhem"! We're hanging out with the Zero Crew and Kieran over in Kitakami, and delving into some cheesy B-horror movie tropes! Oh, and there's a Mythical Pokemon involved, I guess! Sorry this went up a couple days later than I wanted to, I had to deal with some technical difficulties with my laptop. Hopefully you still enjoy this little romp with some of my favorite Pokemon characters! It was super-fun getting to hang out with Arven, Penny, and Nemona again, and I really like when Mythical Pokemon are actually connected to an in-game story or quest, so this was a really fun little aside. Anyway, I wanna try and get a proper video going for later in January, maybe the start of February at the latest, but that also kinda depends on whether the issues with my laptop continue and if I can handle them or not, so I'll try and keep you all posted on either my Twitter or my KZread's Community Tab. In any case, I hope we're all having a lovely Monday! Also, DRINK WATER (and don't eat any mysterious mochi)

In my opinion, this epilogue was pretty great. The new music was fun to listen to, and the dialogue was top notch! Also I totally relate to the sentiment of “gotta hole up indoors to balance out social interactions”. It can get kind of overwhelming sometimes. As for a favorite scary movie, I admittedly haven’t seen that many, but I’d probably say my favorite is Cabin in the Woods.

Agreed! Loved the chance to hang with the Zero Crew again, and their dialogue was so well-done, much like in the main story. And Cabin In The Woods is a solid choice!

I liked this epilogue. A nice conclusion to the game's story. I've not actually seen "Across the Spider-verse" yet. When it came out in theaters, I hadn't even seen the first one (which I only saw last year), and even now that I have seen it, the library reservation list for "Across" is so long that I've not even tried watching it yet. Horror is not really my genre. This story is nothing bad, of course, it's s children's game, but those movies you mentioned don't sound like anything I'd want to watch. So I don't really have anything favorite related to horror. Yup, you are right. This epilogue unlocks your three friends as coaches for Blueberry Academy. Kieran and Carmine can now also show up in the League Club Room. BTW, in case you don't know, the official Pokémon KZread channel just released five-minute video describing Pecharunt's backstory from its perspective.

Yeah, I actually had just gotten done watching that right before I published my Epilogue playthrough video, it's so good! I loved the animation style and it was really interesting to see just how Pecharunt and the Loyal Three were actually connected in-universe.

@@SuperNerdDaniel I agree! It's been a while since a Mythical Pokémon has received such a backstory in the games!

Mochi Mayhem comments: - I think this was a really cute idea! A nice little anime filler arc with all your friends to cap off the grand adventure. It's like the little party that Larian added at the very end of Baldur's Gate 3 where you can see what all your companions have been up to based on your choices. - OMG that little reveal about Penny's family was great! It never would have occurred to me, but the hint was right there in her name. Again with the subtle surprises, Game Freak. - You know who I think would be a great voice actress for Nemona? Grey DeLisle-Griffin. She could infuse Nemona with just the right amount of energy and charm. Maybe it's because the friends group here is like a little Scooby gang and Grey was the voice of Daphne on Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. (That, and maybe her fiery spirit made me think of Azula.) - 44:00 Oh, so that's where that "Oh my God" sound clip comes from! I might have guessed it was from some B-horror flick. - Wow, that Scooby-Doo reference earlier was actually kind of on point. This whole epilogue feels like a Halloween episode of a children's cartoon. - I don't know where you heard that thing about werewolves, but I'm not familiar with any lore or mythology where that works. I know that at least in the world of D&D, if you kill a vampire, then all the spawn turned by that vampire will regain their bodily autonomy. Maybe that's what you were thinking of? - Pecharunt's role in this story is interesting, its battle theme would make for a great workout jam, and it's nice to finally have another Poison and Ghost-type outside of the Gastly line. But this is yet another example of Pokemon referencing itself too much in the design of its 'Mons this generation. Are we going to start seeing more Pokemon based on specific Berries? Or balls besides the traditional Poke Ball? Where does it end? I also wish they had elaborated on its connection to the Loyal Three; given that they have pretty much the same battle theme and they're all Poison-type, I'm sure there's an in-lore connection between them. - QOTD: My favorite scary movies are slow-burn psychological horrors, like Psycho, The Shining, the first Alien movie, and the original Japanese version of The Ring. I'm very picky when it comes to scary movies; bloody, gory slashers full of jump scares and stupid people making stupid decisions are not my thing at all.

You know, it's funny you mention that, because the Pokémon KZread channel actually put out a video on the same day I published this going into Pecharunt's connection to the Loyal Three and Ogerpon. I do kinda wish some of that had been in-game, but at least the video itself is free to view, and it's pretty well-done!

@@SuperNerdDaniel I have seen that video since I wrote this. It is pretty cool, and it's nice to know how Pecharunt is connected to the Loyal Three, but that stuff should've just been in the game, and pretty much everyone on my timeline agrees.

Even though it's not October, it's still a great edit what you're having that involves a ghostly peach Anyways, if you're a Monster Rider in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, I'm sure either a Nargacuga, a Shrouded Nescylla, or a Yian Garuga can fit well with ya
