Mocha Pro 2021: Patching With PowerMesh

Фильм және анимация

This new Mocha and AE tutorial shows how to reverse stabilize a warped surface to remove and fix objects. Martin Brennand uses PowerMesh tracking to create a "stabilized and warped plate" with Mocha Pro's stabilize module. This new image is then composited with Mocha Pro's insert module to patch and fix a rip in the pants.
Mocha Pro 2021 is now available for Adobe, Avid, and supported OFX hosts as well as a standalone application.

    Great work guys! Love your work! You guys should really include a download link to the footage you worked on in this video so that people watching this can also complete what you are teaching. If people can work along the video rather than just passively watch, it helps the brain to solidify the knowledge they are learning.

    is there any reason why my Insert only works in the first frame? When I push Render forward I get "Frame X not rendered in clip 'Composite_Input'. The mesh tracking seems fine..

  • @BorisFXco

    @BorisFXco

    2 жыл бұрын

    You are probably looking at the Insert:Composite render in the viewer. At the top of the viewer change the dropdown to Selected Layer. Alternatively, you can render all the other frames using the play buttons with cogs on the them. This shows how the final composite is going to look with motion blur (if you have it enabled) etc.

    Why did we stabilized the left butt? Could not we just do everything without stabilizing it??

  • @BorisFXco

    @BorisFXco

    2 жыл бұрын

    We need to have the left stabilized too, so we can put it over on the right side without it slipping. If we were using a still image it would work without any difficulties. But because we want to keep the natural lighting and grain, we have stabilized the left side so we can "unstabilize" it again on the right side. Hope that makes sense.

    Picture it this way. We have two objects that are moving in different ways; L & R. We want L to matchmove what R Is doing. So we track just R and tell L to follow. This doesn't look right still because L still has its original movement. So we stabilize L to take away it's own movement. Now when we link the stabilized/static L to R, we get the perfect matchmove.
