maybe for some 3d character face , maybe some meta human, Some cuts on face . this tool is by the way amazing

I needed that !! My clip was not tracking as well and what i did is that i added the tracking data as a corner pin to track it 🙌🏻

In Ae , When I check mark the apply matte option under matte, the overlay png file disappears, why so, please help me out if you have time.please , I have been trying for 3 days

Have you tried pre-composing the PNG and applying Mocha to the precomp rather than the PNG directly?

I been messing with Mocha to make a shadow person effect via making a matte of the head then blur/ mess with the contrast until it looks right. If I were to do this with a Texture instead in a attempt to track facial expressions. Would it be a good idea to track beyond the head sense it's going to effect the entire thing?

I really appreciate your videos. You do a great job presenting information. Is that your real office or a green screen? If it is a green screen, where did you find the background?

Great tutorial. I got it to work perfectly to where you ended the video. (Instead of saving the photoshopped bruise file as a PSD I did a .png and it worked fine.) Also. I got it to look and track perfectly on the timeline as you did, but when I exported through AME to mp4 the bruise floated all over the place. BUT when I exported through RENDER QUEUE to AVI it was perfect. The file size of the 8 second clip for AVI was nearly a gig and the mp4 was only 12 meg. So I'd obviously prefer to have the file as mp4. Have you been able to export through AME successfully to mp4?

That's super strange. As a workaround you could try dragging your comp into Premiere Pro, make a new sequence with that imported comp, then export from Premiere. Also make sure everything is fully up to date including your creative cloud app.

I scrubbed along the timeline and noticed it was doing the effect later on so I tried aligning the two and it worked. Super easy workaround is to precomp the clip and then track that precomp instead

You have a very good voice , use that insread of making yourselves appear all the time wich is really destracting when watching a tutorial !

Great tutorial. I’ve used Lockdown in the past, but this looks potentially more powerful and less glitchy. How would you handle adding bruises to a side of the face that was not exposed until you turned your head?

I'd split the clip into a new layer from the moment the bruise is fully exposed, track forward with the bruise image, and then reverse the moment leading up to the bruise reveal from when it's first visible, so you can essentially track it forward that way too, precomp then re-reverse it. I'm sure there is an easier way but that's the immediate problem solving answer that comes to mind 😂🫣

hello I tried in a thousand ways but I can not apply the texture to the scene, in mocha I regularly create the mapping of the object with the mesh when I save and step ada ftere effects ache seguenso passes step by step the procedure does not create any deformation and movement to the object in which I want to apply the effect thanks

It might be the timecode of your clip causing issues. Try precomposing the clip then tracking that precomp instead of the clip directly

mines didnt change to that mesh you have, it stayed the same

Yep, it seems theres kind of glitch which happens if the layer is trimmed.

Did you get the part in the tutorial about the clip and layer needing to align? An easy way around this if you're trimming a clip to set in and out points is to precomp that clip so the precomp has a 00:00:00 starting time code value

@@dodmedia find that solution, but got another bug, lol - the mask gets smaller when I'm copying it on second layer. So bugged soft, don't know how to work with that

How does Mocha compare to Lockdown when it comes to tracking?

Oh for sure. You could spend a lot longer than I did so it's more accurate. Or you could put a few dots on the actors face to make the motion tracking WAY more accurate and then remove them in after effects after you've tracked the clip

I'm guessing it's not always behind or you wouldn't have much luck tracking it.. if you have an object that passes in front of your tracked item, you can track that object then place that tracked later on top of the thing you actually want to track and since Mocha is a planar tracker it'll use the top layer to ignore in the tracking data of the lower layer 👍👍

Easiest solution is just to pre-comp the footage then track that pre-comp 🤦‍♂️

I couldn't get it to work either though, the solution I found on a mocha forum was to first precomp my section of the footage and THEN track it and do the rest, that simplifies the whole matching times part of it when it comes to applying the mesh on the overlay you're adding on top. Thanks for the vids, cheers.
