PowerMesh Rendering for Texture Painting with Alembic data [Boris FX Mocha Pro]
Фильм және анимация
Use Mocha Pro's PowerMesh to render a dynamic texture which can be used for Alembic projection in Nuke. Martin Brennand, Mocha Product Manager, takes you through this fast workflow tutorial. Use Mocha Pro's Alembic export and NUKE's paint tools to do some straightforward digital paint. This technique can be expanded to fit your shot.

Very nice! I've been using this workflow in Flame for some time now. It can be a real life (and weekend) saver! I mostly will use a prerendered unwarp mesh and just throw it through Mocha again, setting it to warp with same setup I used to make the mesh stabilize. Sometimes I feel it's just faster to do it this way.
Thank you very much for this tutorial!!
Cool!

great
Cool! Can I just export the alembic or texture to photoshop or substance to texture there? Then read that back in as the new textured "read geo"?

You can't use Alembic data in Premiere Pro, but you can do things a slightly different way. Here's an After Effects/Mocha tutorial that can be used better with Premiere. There's almost no AE functionality shown, so you should be a more direct comparison : borisfx.com/videos/add-face-paint-with-mocha-pros-powermesh-and-the-insert-module/
how to fix the smoothness of the edge of alembic geo ??

Usually we recommend making a bigger shape than necessary and tracking a smaller area within it. This anchors the outer border and negates most problems. If you have a good example to show, please join us on the forums : forum.borisfx.com/ There are some better voices in there to help with specific workflows.
Is it possibile to do it in after effects?

Not with Alembic, but yes with PowerMesh. Check out Exercise 16 of the Mocha Essentials training course : borisfx.com/free-training/mocha-essentials/
Possible to show a Tut with this same method with Silhouette?

We can't use Alembic files in Silhouette, but check out exercise 5 in this Silhouette compositing series for the PowerMesh workflow : borisfx.com/free-training/si-essentials-compositing/
