The last time I checked, that wasn't what Kira Yamato did.

He becomes insanely OP for the rest of the series because he has already achieved Enlightenment and has unlocked the true potential of man. The 'Jesus' analogies mostly come from westerners ignorance of Japanese culture and eastern religion.

Sigh... I'll never get tired of it. They put a LOT of budget into the Freedom's entrance and it was well worth it. To this day, it is still such a badass moment. Sends chills down my spine every single time.

No other hero entrance is like this. When all is lost, X10A Freedom suddenly appear and bring suprise and hope. Those wings are fabulous like peacock trying to intimidate opponent to protect itself. Of coz in this episode it is like angle wing came to protect archangel, the legged ship. Anyone spill tears over this scene?

I love this episode. Seeing Archangel’s desperate attempt to escape and Freedom’s arrival is arguably one of the best Anime scenes ever. The activation of the cyclops was also a moment I can never forget.

Even 20 years later it's hard not to tear up a little at *that* entrance.

The music when you see the Freedoms back in front of the Archangel is still the most chills I've gotten out of a gundam series. Still my favorite moment in my favorite gundam series even 20 years later.

這就是我為什麼會喜歡自由高達，或多或少都是因為First launch 真的太帥了，印象深刻，當大天使號艦長以為自己要完了的時候，突然在天上面有台高達超高速衝下落還斬落敵人的頭，之後開翼的保護大天使號時候真的帥爆全場，再施展這個高火力全炮發射進行全面壓制，簡直是一騎當千。

I think its one of the reasons the Freedom is my Favorite Gundam ever. I love it even over the Strike freedom. I know its not the most powerful, or the most Iconic, But something about the freedom just speaks to me.

I baught at least 5 freedom gundam models since i saw this part while studying junior high.

I have revisited this episode and scene more times than I can remember or count for. I still get goosebump when Meteor plays till this day as a 28 year old. Two decades later into adulthood and my soon to be born first child, this nostalgic & iconic moment really makes me emotional for all kinds of reasons. _This was my childhood, and it was awesome_

Gundam seed & destiny honestly have the best OST. All songs are just perfect for the feel of the whole series. Gosh best childhood ever ❤️❤️❤️

It’s a small detail, but I really appreciate how they showed freedom slowly accelerating away from the Archangel after the thrusters fire off. That acceleration implies mass and bulk to the Freedom, which adds to the presence of this suit as a force not to be trifled with.

This episode will always be a top one in the Gundam series, imo. You have an excellent entrance to the main suit, and then one of the most brutal scenes in the series with a shit ton of people just popping like popcorn. Such a goddamn emotional ride.

15:50 that vents still give me chills. My 5th time rewatching this series or maybe more I can't remember. Love this series. 💯❤️

This anime describes how people hope for peace. How much was sacrificed for the war. Even innocent souls suffer when they are in a war situation. Children lose parents, parents lose children. Friends must be against each other because their countries are enemies. If only, there was someone who can with his strength he could disarm them, then this world would be peaceful without war. Hope for the Middle East, hope for peace in the world

I am 38 now but this episode really hits the most. Not only of the entrance but the subtle message it brings. Kira calling out to both forces to cease fighting for them to be spared from the Onslaught of Cyclops is notable. its true a war is going on and lives are going to be lost but to sacrifice all those lives is disturbing. writing a battle scenario like that is messed up. and it happened in real life as well.. just shows nobody really wins in a war as lives are lost on both sides.

l absolutely love how the comments adore one of the grandest mobile suit entrances ever with the Freedom's appearance here. Add to that the very fitting Meteor theme, and you got yourself one of the best and most epic scenes in the Gundam franchise. This scene was also the reason why I liked the Freedom. It was such a glorious moment and a bad*ss one too. 🔥

love the series. This was the first gundam series that I ever watched and I just adore it. All others gundam series that I watch after just didn't do it for me. Special note. Freedom is the first named MS in SEED seen to be capable of sustained atmospheric flight, other than the mass produced DINN. Followed by Justice, Forbidden and Raider. Everything else either require Guuls for hovering, piggyback (Calamity) or can only do short hops and limited flights (Strike). Providence was not seen operating on Earth. But being nuclear powered with the same OS as Freedom, and given what Legend can do in SEED Destiny, it is quite possible that Providence can also perform sustained flight. In SEED Destiny, except Zakus, Gaia and Abyss and other legacy MS, everything can fly.

Providence was primarily created for space usage (its DRAGOONs should be a sufficient reason), so with its huge backpack, its giant rifle, it cannot sustain atmospheric flight, even with a nuclear reactor. It would just be another Calamity, but with more limited firepower since DRAGOONs can't work on Earth.

I am sure Providence can probably hover on the ground, Freedom has a thrust-to-weight ratio at 7.4, so even if te Providence has 7 times lower thrust-to-weight(and its unlikely it would be this low), it can probably still sustain 1gee acceleration and cancelling out the effect of gravity. I think it can probably fly too, but it wont be very stable and would be alot slower

I already liked the Strike Gundam, but when Seed was airing on Toonami I missed so many episodes I didn't care..... Then this episode happened.... And I've watched Seed more times than I can count to this day. I fell in Love with the Freedom immediately, and has been my favorite ever since, only surpassed by the obvious Strike Freedom.

Yzak was supposed to be the pilot of Freedom gundam. He knew the gundam but sub translation sounds he doesn’t know because of the direction translation . ( He sounds knew it in Japanese btw)
