Garrod is actually the most badass first episode of any Gundam except for maybe Domon. Dude gets a girlfriend, steals a Gundam, defeats the enemy, fires a Satellite Cannon and more in the first episode, it's the most stacked first episode.

@@marcusking332 epyon is gorgeous in its own right and such a cool concept. This sinanju is also really beautiful if we're going into the char and char-esque suits. 00 also had some really underappreciated mobile suit designs

Fun fact: Stargazer is the only Gundam not intended for fighting but rather space exploration, it’s Solar Sail (or the Voiture Lumiere) captures solar wind energy and converts it into propulsion, which would enable it to accelerate indefinitely as long as it’s moving. However, it did end up being used in combat because the base was being attacked, and oh boy it’s fucking strong.

Considering the distances, the small as fuck asteroids, fuel storage, etc etc. there’s a lot to consider when going to the far reaches of space. Also considering they’re at war they don’t really have the luxury of doing a ton of space exploration research

00 still has my heart. Still my fav season and Gundam series ever.

48:46 I still think Lfrith's activation is one of the greatest first launches in Gundam history. Elnora's sheer horror the moment she sees her toddler daughter has activated the most powerful weapon in history, contrasted with the frankly heartbreaking scene less than a minute before of her comforting said child after they're thrown into an active battlefield, with friends and family dying all around them. And everything is completed with the OST, emphasizing just how earth-shattering this moment is, how extremely WRONG this moment is. Eri has just been tossed into a life of war and suffering. Elnora knows it, the music knows it, the audience knows it, it's just Eri herself who can't understand it.

I love videos like these and I’m so glad someone finally made a comprehensive one. Nothing beats the feeling of a sick lauch sequence for a new mobile suit. I still think the Double X is my favourite though. So badass. My only complaint is that you kept some instances of first combat for certain mobile suits but not other (basically I just wanted to see the Zeta and Nu Gundam kick ass lol)

Now you just need to add Rising Freedom, Strike Freedom Type II, and Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam to complete the list up to date.

G -Gundam has the best cockpit set up...Dunno how one would get used to the joysticks in the others. But with the G set up you just move your own body...which is freaking cool

the jump in quality from the original to zeta is really mesmerizing to see, the first episode of zeta got me hooked immediately just by seeing the visuals and knowing the history and cancellation of the original show. Good on sunrise for giving tomino another chance after its posthumous success, good on bandai for saving gundam, and good on tomino for sticking to his guns and doing what he wanted despite the pressure for toy sales. The world is all the better for it.

Being an oldtimer, i love classic Gundam entrances like UCs or Wing, but the newer ones like Unicorn, Barbatos or Aerial are also really good, i hope this will renewed with footage from Seed Freedom
