Something I've always appreciated about the first three Bayformers movies is how much of it has real footage in the background -- real streets, real cars flipping around, real sparks and explosions, etc. Nowadays it feels like too many big-budget action movies just CGI the entire scene with zero real footage just because they can.

Complete agree with you man, that’s y I’ve never been that excited about any new action type movies that come out, Hollywood has really just leaned more on CGI then goin out to the location and filming the stunts there

I reckon that almost all of it was CGI, from the buildings to the civilians. These films were made when CGI was the big new thing and studios would try their hardest implement it in any way possible. Back then CGI was something to boast about and the more you had the better your film would rate.

*Well, if you think of it, making movies is just doing business yeahh.. And just like any other business, their main goal is to minimize costs and maximize profits, so by using CGI they are cutting down all of their big expenses, less money spent to film these scenes and in thee end they be getting better footage of how they wanted the scenes to turn out and completed the movie like this..* 🤗

That's because Bay make him WEAK in the second movie. Megatron is just as powerful as Optimus but Optimus is a cut above since he's a Prime. Megatron kicked Optimus' ass in Part 1. In 2 and 3, he was bigger, slower, and could hardly put up a proper fight without relying on his Decepticons which was nonsense.

These movies never got the best writing but man the action and transformation scenes were sooooo badasss

Optimus and Megatron: Dies Michael Bay: And guess what? they're not ded!!!

My favorite scenes in dotm 0:14 0:35 0:46 0:55 2:23 3:12 3:18 3:23 3:27 16:15 17:57 26:09 26:43 27:22 the best movie to watch on a road trip, if anything, it's one of the best movies, EVER! Things to notice: I will continue to edit this comment until I have almost every cool moment from the movie that I missed like this one 16:15 and second yes I added a bunch of time stamps for no reason other than to press the goofy button.

I agree I seen the first 3 in theaters and that meant everything the last 2 were ok but the first 3 were gold that was most of my childhood growing up for sure

Don’t care what people say, Michael Bay did his thing with these movies. The action spectacle in the Transformers franchise (and most action movies in general) hasn’t been replicated since. I’ll be forever thankful to have grown up with these.

All those innocent people just driving not knowing an alien robot war is happening and they’re being used as a tool for war

Even though they're not the best movies the action scenes still hold up to this day

Funniest thing ever, watching all the pedestrians in their cars with all this chaos going on, and they're just absolutely oblivious to imminent danger. They have 0 emotions. Just a nice lil Sunday drive. "Oh hey look, giant robots with guns and explosions, doo doo doo doo doo~"

The first scene is my all time favorite. Damn those running decepticon looks scary and cool.

When I was a kid I thought these movies were absolutely kick ass. Now as a mature 23 year old I have realized that I was absolutely correct and these movies did indeed, kick ass

Transformers and pirates of the Caribbean had visuals way ahead of their times

I remember when my 1976 Ford Pinto Wagon would transform into Okra Winfrey, it was the baddest mother on the block.

one thing that make me laugh a bit about the first transformers is the amount of brands marketing in there 🤣🤣 you got budlight, xbox 360, those gremlin looking things, mountain dew, ford, chevy, and tons more lmao

I group on these movies and have all the transformer movies: 1,2,3,4, bumblebee movie, beast, all the oldie transformers series ones. I miss when I would have the time to watch them on long car rides, time flies.

Throughout the series, sideswipe and Dino were my considerable favorites because Sideswipe who basically has 2 other tires as rollar blades. Is able to fight and maneuver against big deceptions. Dino is a savage because his forearm blades can attack and defend

*IMO one of the best scenes ever in all of this Transformers movie franchise is when Lockdowns face turns into a huge sniper gun and then fires at the target, doing massive devastating damage to it, together with it's high precision, this was just epic and really awesome to watch..*
