Men & Machines: Mobile Monster Cranes | Engineering Documentary
Exceptional Engineering - Mega Cranes: • Mega Cranes | Exceptio...
Without the one-armed giants, nothing works on major construction sites. This episode is about the powerhouses with the long arms: the cranes. For example the nine-axle LTM 11200-9.1. With a 100 metre long telescopic boom and a maximum load capacity of 1200 tonnes, it is particularly suitable for the construction of wind turbines. "Men & Machines" shows the Super Crane in action and takes a look at the crane forge.
They operate Germany's largest and strongest machines. Between the North Sea and the Alps, huge tools make possible in a few days or hours what used to take hundreds of workers weeks or months.
With courage and sure instinct, they control machines weighing tons with millimetre precision. What do the men have to bring along if they want to operate Germany's largest machines safely and how are such mega-aggregates manufactured? The German mechanical engineering industry is world-famous. Men & Machines shows why.
In each episode Men & Machines presents the biggest tools of different industries: Tunnelling, cranes, track construction, open-cast mining, demolition companies and forestry. The spectators experience the gigantic machines and their guides in action and also get a glimpse into the production halls of these machines in every episode.

Over the years I have operated many sizes of cranes, which vary in lifting capacities from anything from the smallest of boom trucks all the way up to hundreds of tons. Operating these cranes has to be some of the most technical of positions in the construction industry and I have cared deeply about the ability that I possess in making each and every lift one of the safest and most precise that there can be. The liebher crane that's shown in this video is not only one of the biggest, it is extremely delicate and accurate for lifting even the most largest and highest lifts for a crane of its caliber. Thanks to liebher for sharing this awesome documentary with us and above all please remember to keep safe friends....

I don't know what it is or why but I've always been fascinated by plant machinery, especially cranes I just find it total amazeballs machines so massive yet so precise down to the mm. 👏👏👏👏 And I know girls can do anything these days but I'm too old now to be an engineer I hope if reincarnation is true, I come back as a bloke 😆❤
