Mr. Paulson is a gold mine. I'm surprise there aren't more eyes on him. Thanks for the uploads.
Paulson is a legend. Lots of people talk about Rickson when they talk grappling gods. Paulson forgot more about submissions than mr 400-0. If you have the opportunity to train with Mr. Paulson, you should cherish every moment. And I don't say that to be dramatic. Guy is a walking encyclopedia of submissions and MMA.
I'm so glad Eric did this speech I have tried to tell this to guys doing MMA and they would just not listen.
Excellent points, thank you!
The Best I have Trained With my Coach ! Who Honed my technical ability in JKD ! Coach who Introduced Real JKD to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 in 1994 now Very Popular and Still growing ! A Guru With a mega Heart ❤️ with Gratitude Thank You ! Appreciate you Guru Erik Paulson!!!!
Good advice and yes, gloves on and avoiding punches, getting off your back is/should be the goal.
Bridging defense is important too
I liked it, one of the only few MMA coach that I know talks about MMA wasn't just for the purpose of sport.
MMA is not the "end all be all" until they allow knees to grounded opponents, headbutts, 12-6 elbows, and soccer kicks
great advise
everyone can be taken down. It's called gravity. Great work eric
Here, here, always keeping it real. Under Royce’s line you put the gloves on a lot...self-defense is what it’s all about imho.

Even in the Gracie Academy schools. You start with the standup stuff in every class and then you do ground techniques.
Only you would take her down....keeping the truth in the martial artist, that you do brother.
Train with all your street clothes on including shoes. Train with your snow jacket on. It changes a lot of things.
awesome advice coach. I'm always asking myself would this work on the street
Forget John Danaher and Dean Lister, Paulson was the OG leg lock wizard!
It's not if but when it goes to the ground
I used to train CSW I felt it was much more self defense oriented then jujitsu

An encyclopedia of martial arts .
Erik, you need to go Keto or carnivore Bro!! I'm concerned for your health. You're a great guy man. Btw, great segment!
would this work on the streets?
🙏❤️😂😂😂😂😂😂👍
Everyone can be taken down? Hum.... Maybe but I bet you would have a hard time taking down Mark Hunt.
I thought tweekers didn't eat much. Also truckers don't really use meth anymore mandatory drug tests all the time.
