I was in sitting in RF when Nando threw out Pasquantino. I couldn't see exactly where Tatis was but saw the throw and knew he was out - felt like I was watching it all happen in slow motion yet it was so damn quick. As bad as this season has been, it's been a thrill to watch him gun down runners.
I still think Corea has one of the strongest arms in the league. Watched him catch a relay ball in between 1st and 2nd then lazer it to 3rd to get an out during a post season game. Was insanely quick.
I met Jerry Coleman in 2004, and he was such a gentleman to me. It's awesome that the Padres announcers are still hanging a star on their calls in honor of Mr. Coleman.
I have been watching baseball for over 60 years, and the footwork on these plays blows my mind. The feet point the way for the arm, and I can't imagine being able to stop a spin at the precise moment the body is pointed at the target.

You are underrated af
4:10 The best arm in the MLB!
The hitter at the 5:34 mark just made me think of the Chris Berman saying "rumbling stumbling" when a lineman runs with the football....
I absolutely love these vids. Nothing like these throws.
Well hello KZread suggestions. You strike again. Who else is new? Love the video. Great cutting.

Thanks for the Lane Thomas appreciation
Most of these were catching stupid runners and guys with lead in their pants. But that throw at 1:44 was a laser from the outfield.

More aggressive some were dumb others were just you need a perfect throw to get them
No mention of Brenton Doyle though the guy leads baseball in outfield assists and literally broke the stat cast record for hardest EVER throw from the outfield

Elly is a future star
6:32 was safe lol
Not surprised by Oscar Colas arm, he was once reportedly able to throw 95 on the mound.
Al Kaline had a rocket arm in the 60’s and early 70’s. Threw out runners from 300 feet and it was always on the line to the 3rd. Baseman or catcher at home.
The last one…holy crap how fast did that ball get thrown???
0:24 was at this game near third base and this was insane to watch
Matt Wallner AL ROTY candidate
Honestly thought some of those tags, especially at the beginning, were late, but it might just be the angle. Still freaking amazing!
Need to watch a league slow pitch softball games. My right fielder can throw it over the fence behind the plate from the warning track
That guy on the Reds from third base sheesh
3:23 springers face when he sees the throw lmao

I play Senior Ball in Tokyo, Japan, the over 60 YO league. I'm the only foreigner out of over 600 guys on 40 teams... we talk about some of the plays in the MLB, especially the Angels because of Ohtani. I get compared to Nootbar (played for Japan) because I still throw very hard and had 5 assists from center in 7 games in the first half of our season. Never played baseball formerly when I was younger but am enjoying it now and love watching these guys gun people down!

At 0:40-41 at half speed, his foot is all on top of the bag before the tag gets applied. At 1:11 same song second verse. When the tag hits his right upper arm his lefthand is already on the bag..
Josh bell was not out from 25 feet 25 miles
Brian Anderson lowkey has one of the best arms in baseball. I remember a play he made in right field for the marlins where he gunned down a guy trying to get to third base on a rope and Ive never been able to find it again but it was amazing

Reggie Smith who played for the dodgers in the late 70's and early 80's, was standing with his back against the wall, took 2 steps and caught the ball, then threw a rope to throw out the runner at home, no bounce, I haven't been able to find it
Brian Anderson has a rocket arm
for people who dont know Oscar Colas he will be a very surprising defensive player!!!

About the same as he throws now....maybe 2-3 more MPH velocity.
I think one of the reasons that I like watching these videos is because I grew up watching Dwight Evans and also because I was blessed with a cannon. Loved Clemente's arm and Ken Griffey Jr. and Bo Jackson was off the charts. As a Rays fan I loved me some Kevin Kiermaier. Tatis and Acuna are spectacular but for my money, give me Ichiro any day. Yes, yes, I know that this is a video about this season's greatest throws but aside from Renfroe and the previously mentioned and that one from third to first at the beginning, none of them overwhelmed me.

What's your point? So can about two dozen outfielders and a handful of infielders.
Totally upset non of Dubón’s great outfield assists was here.
@4:40 -- Kiermaier was just trying to warn us the whole time.
6:31 Corbin safe as hell bruh
I find it rude that you didn’t account for Patrick Bailey
I swear half of these, the runner is safe. Look at 2:00 at quarter speed. Goes for the tag on the right arm, and the left arm sweeps by and tags the base.
I want to know who is coming up with these speeds that they are claiming the outfielders are throwing???? Is this just w visual speed you are coming up with lol.,
A lot of these look like the runner is safe.
0:17, “thought they had a shot” they definitely had a shot to throw him out
Baseball is fun not boring
The first guy was hosed if they didn’t cut it off
No Brenton Doyle or Nolan Jones on this compilation is criminal. They have the hardest throws from the outfield for the whole year. Do better

Yes we were miffed, we were vexed at your exclusion of acuna. Thank you for clarifying why he was excluded I don't understand copyright rules. Why would showing hakuna beer copyright violation but not showing de La Cruz or other players?
I think in MLB The Show 2023, Tatis might be the only player that has an arm strength of over 99, at 107, in ROTS at least.
the first one...... he could've get the 3rd base runner
These are all great throws but holy smokes a lot of them are awful baserunning lol
One infield throw? Just one?

we call ie laser arm not cannon arm
Oscar Colas takes him down- Jason Benetti.
If I'm an MLB manager, I'm telling all my players to act like every close tag is a safe call. Stand up and stand on the bag and ask for time. Don't even think about motioning to the dugout. Let the guy getting paid to watch every play in slow motion on behalf of our club be the one who makes the call.

Several of those look like they beat the tag.
So Lane Thomas is to blame for Freddie not getting 60 two bags this year
Erm.. no Acuna? Dude throws 104 from the outfield lol
I could beat vogelbach to any base lol
A 1-hopper to 2B from CF to throw out Freddie Freeman is not necessarily a cannon.
How were some older players not shown with cannon arms like roberto clemente, andre dawson , etc
@baseballisntboring

2023 season only
throwing out vogelbach shouldn't be a thing
Anyone else think the guy from the tatis throw was safe because of the tag? Thought his foot got in there first
A lot of these so calls would be overturned
Somehow it seems that sports science is improving swings, speed, and spin rate off the mound. It is not improving outfield arms. These were nice shots, not "cannon arms". See Raul Mondesi, Clemente, Bo, et al. The best arms are in the past.

That de la Cruz opening one isn't that great because wilder is a slow runner. Not taking anything away from cruz cannon of an arm though

He was out by a lot u just gotta pause it on time
Why do they cut away from the fielder EVERY SINGLE TIME to show the runner running? A close up of a guy running is not nearly as interesting, informative or entertaining as watching the fielder get into position, catch the ball, set up and throw the ball. Then, they should stay on the ball in flight, because you can see the runner running in that shot. Just because they have so many camera angles doesn’t mean they should try to use them all in every play. Fortunately, most of these highlights have a replay of just one shot of the fielder fielding and throwing the ball, but it would be much better to see it live.
How do you purport to show the best throws in MLB and not have even one of Ronald Acuna's???
@baseballisntboring
