I’m a Phillies fan born and bred. My eyes almost shed a tear for Yadi in last years playoffs against us. You can’t play behind the plate better than this guy. Not just his arm but his ability to block everything, make pitchers games easier and he was the general when he was on the field. Mind and body always in the game. The GOAT at Catcher

No question about it. And he was pretty clutch with the lumber, too. The best catcher I have ever seen behind the plate, and one of the best at the plate, too, particularly in clutch situations. And absolutely one of the most intelligent catchers-- and players ever to grace the diamond. He was also a very intelligent baserunner, and a great leader and mentor for younger players. There's a difference between how Yadi and Pudge get baserunners out. Pudge was all power but his placement was all over the place. The basemen would have to do more work to get the tag over to the runner so his punchouts were much closer. Yadi takes a but of velocity off the throws but his placement is spot on, usually right in the path of the runner so slot of these aren't even close. The baserunner often runs back to the dugout before the ump even gestures the out.

There is & MAY NEVER be a finer cut of a laser precision, 1ST Time Ballot Hall-of-Famer, who was truly blessed from behind the plate, as his performance was more an artistic masterpiece, day after day, as this man was truly blessed with a FREAKIN CANNON for an arm. No finer catcher to use his God given talent to get his team off the field and back in the dugout, so for all you youthful players who are down with doing the dirty work from behind the plate, look no further for a model of who simply was THE BEST player to gear up behind the plate. 🍻🇺🇸🙏🏼🇺🇸🍻

Absolute assassin
Begs the question...WHY would the runner even try?! What a joy to watch Yadi in action!!
Great catcher .
I'm not a baseball fan but MAN can he throw the ball. A ROPE every time and placed right on the money.
The best.
Only two nicknames are perfect for Molina, Yadi and GOAT
There is & MAY NEVER be a finer cut of a laser precision, 1ST Time Ballot Hall-of-Famer, who was truly blessed from behind the plate, as his performance was more an artistic masterpiece, day after day, as this man was truly blessed with a FREAKIN CANNON for an arm. No finer catcher to use his God given talent to get his team off the field and back in the dugout, so for all you youthful players who are down with doing the dirty work from behind the plate, look no further for a model of who simply was THE BEST player to gear up behind the plate. 🍻🇺🇸🙏🏼🇺🇸🍻
He throws a great sinker ball !!
Two things. 1. I can watch highlights of Yadi all day. 2. If he isn't first round HOF, I'm going to do my Albert Puljos impersonation and the selection committee heads will be the ball. 😅
At 3:18, look at the way Molina heads to back up third (or head to the dugout I'm not sure exactly which). He's the consummate professional.
I love how often they show the faces of the runners doing a look like "well, of course that's what happened"
Wow. Sosa sticking with it @ 1:39 is impressive.

YADI IS THE GOAT ❤
Man was THE General!
Take a look at his chest. He is/was the ONLY catcher to have the Jordan logo. Also note that it is GOLD! GOAT PERIOD!

Yea true… Jeter got to wear Jordan gear… TripleG in box got to wear Jordan stuff..
Molina was to StL catchers what Bob Gibson was to StL pitchers and Ozzie was to shortstops. Gutsy, talented, intimidating. Best catcher of all time IMO.
His game IQ is amazing.
How many Wins Above Replacement was Yadi?
10:20 w the umpire in the way it looked like he punched the runner lmao
"Runner goes, Throw by molina, goodbye! not even close"
He's good!
Imagine being a pitcher on the Cardinals, never having to worry about a base runner
The man has skills, for sure! But who would you rather have behind the plate? Yadier Molina or Benito Santiago?
Every runner with an inflated sense of grandeur wanted to be one of the few who swiped a bag on Yadi... It was the challenge of challenges. It is also why there were so few attempts. I'd love to know the wild stats like who was caught stealing the most by Yadi, most attempts on Yadi (team or player) etc...
I really enjoy when catchers throw down to first when they lead off too much.!!
Soy de Venezuela tenemos. A Salvador Pérez ok para mí un grade pero el yadi el mounstro de la rectoría e Iván rod.. 🎉🎉🎉
Poster boy for "fuck around find out"
I love it when the player at 2nd catches the ball and the runner isn't in the frame of the shot yet. YM is an absolute assassin.
To me it’s Johnny bench then molina as all time catchers
2:50 HOLY FUK that was perfect 🤯
YOU~DON’T~STEAL~ON~YADI!!! Yadi is the 🐐! We missed the future Hall of Famer at Opening Weekend this year. 😔
3:20 holy smokes is right omg
Great catcher. I would have to look at the numbers, but I think Pudge had one of the best arms I have ever seen.
5:28 Was that a curve ball? Respect.
Not possible but Ricky Henderson or Vince Coleman vs Yadi.
Unfortunate the world never got a Yadi vs. Elly.
🐐
the best in the mlb since ivan rodriguez.
Most satisfying sh*t ever
Video es excellente! Muchas gracias for making this video

Y Cardinals es Numero UNO!!
He is 212 all time in throwing out base runners %.
the padres one was funny. Batter threw the bat.
Bro I’m a cacher in my league and throwing while crouching is super hard. Idk how he does that.
Some of these guys were safe tho...
the *best* there _e v e r was_
He was our Michael Jordan. The GOAT
0:42 batter know that the runner is hosed
