Mk5 GTI DSG fluid Service. Top fill method.

Sorry it’s been a long time since I posted a video.
Thing to note is to keep the engine running when draining the excessive fluid. I forgot to mention that.

Can you give the ID of the filter through which the oil goes? Or the OD of the adapter you plugged into it?

Is there anything wrong with using a full synthetic GF6A motor oil instead of the VW 504 to 508.00 spec oil that's so hard to find Espically if you change it every 3k

officially you change dsg gearbox oil every 40,000 miles. that by vw. and need to use the right oil otherwise it will fuck it up.

Great video ! Could you let know the diameter of the tubing that you inserted into the filter housing to drain the oil without spilling?

I used what I had and it wasn’t a perfect fit. Mine was slightly loose. I’m sorry I don’t know the size I had. Some hoses come with a cap that actually fits inside the nipple. That’s what I use now on my Audi S3.

@@ajetauto5592 Thanks for letting me know. Could you share the spec of the hose/funnel you use for your Audi S3? I presume the DSG Oil filters housing would be pretty much the same on a Golf and Audi ?

Do you have to use the fancy tube funnel or can you use a regular funnel?

As long as you can get a seal around the nipple of the filter housing that’s why most use a hose and a funnel. A regular funnel might spill out cause it goes in so slow. Also it helps so you don’t have to hold it while it’s draining into the transmission.

No issues unless the car is tuned. You may have to get it retuned after. You will have warning lights but they all should go away after you drive for a minute or two. All normal

How long did it take to empty each bottle?

The fluid was cold and my funnel had like a screen so it was slow. I’d say 3-5 minutes per bottle to drain into the transmission.
