    Great review short and sweet. Also got a new regulator recently. But are now looking to build a kegerator and I am looking for a regulating manifold. The Blowtie might just work for that.

    Panhead Brewery! their Supercharger is the best beer i have ever had on tap. Just starting to drink the all grain NEIPA now from your recipe it's awesome! I did however end up using Amarillo and Taheka/cascade hops for the late and dry hops due to a lack of citra.

    Got mine a few weeks ago and collected my CO2 cylinder today. I'm new to kegging and I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for all the tips, especially about which way to twist the regulator to release gas - I didn't look at the + and - directions on the valve and got it wrong and thought it was faulty as it kept releasing gas...rookie move!!!

    Thank you so much for this (Aware it's an older video). Kegland's videos are terrible. They make huge assumptions and don't actually show you how to use their products. Now, if someone can make a "How to pressure ferment using a Fermzilla for dummies", I'd appreciate it.

    That was a cheap replacement gauge because I had knocked over the bottle a few years ago, and broke the original gauge. I think thats the issue, not sure how old that regulator is, it would be at least 5 or 6 years old. Cheers!

    I seen on forums somewhere that star san makes the duotight fitting crack and shouldn't be used on it? this true ?

  • @HomeBrewNetwork

    @HomeBrewNetwork

    4 жыл бұрын

    Star san is a very corrosive acid, it will eat plastic, it will eat concrete, it will eat your bench top.. what happens is people dont dilute it right, to get it more "bubbly" like you would with say dishwashing liquid, and it eats them. Even if you use it at correct mix, once the water evaporates you're left with the corrosive bit.. so yeah it does if you use it wrong, star san isnt and never has been a leak detector , just cause it bubbles doesnt mean it should be used... ever had a bottle of star san? ever had the lid crack? It eats the lids.. You can use it for the bubbles if you want, but wash it off!... its fine using it internally in the fittings and hoses because it doesnt dry out and get concentrated.... People just dont realise the basics of things some times. Hope that explains it! Cheers mate!

    You can also add (sodium metasilicate) to your sodium per carbonate to make your own PBW . The PBW works a little better due to the (sodium metasilicate) . You can get it from a hardware store or amazom sells it in bags, I also get my sodium per carbonate from them, it's cheaper. Here is a link that gives some information on it. www.bertusbrewery.com/2012/11/super-charge-your-oxiclean.html

    Hello gash, Peter I have a regulated it with bad as well? and I'm a sick f*** write down every amount of kegs the regulator, I used 600 kgs to a regulator? what do you think is an acceptable amount of kegs to go through a regulator?...

  • @HomeBrewNetwork

    @HomeBrewNetwork

    Carbing beer and serving beer you should get about 10 kegs at least out of the size bottle I have 2.6kg. Is that what you mean?

  • @petercatto9795

    @petercatto9795

    @@HomeBrewNetwork .I have a 6.8 kilo gas bottle, the regulator lasted about 600 kegs.Is that the average life of a regulator or do i have a faulty one?

  • @HomeBrewNetwork

    @HomeBrewNetwork

    5 жыл бұрын

    Average life of a regulator is hard to judge mate, some last a long time, others don't. 600 kegs is a lot! Often you can replace the diaphragm if needed or just give it a service. They can be hard to open.

  • @charleschapman2428
    @charleschapman24285 жыл бұрын

    Be careful using the Star San as a leak test or on anything metal that your're not going to rinse off, because it is acidic, the soap can also be alkaline, I would give it a spray with clan water. I also had a regulator go bad that let full pressure into a oxygen line, when the line blew I thought the tank itself blew, very loud.
