Obsessed with my s23 wedges! I have ping glide 4.0’s, vokey sm9 and these. If you’re a really good wedge player but you struggle to predict spin on weird lies than these are superb. They come off very consistently…..They feel like a Mizuno iron. I get excited to practice with them simply because they feel so darn good!!

I'd like to see a game improvement wedge shootout. Like these Mizunos, the Cleveland CBX, and others. Maybe throw in a set wedge to see how they match up as well along with the traditional bladed type. Would be interesting to see what you gain and what you lose.

Great content once again. Mizuno references on their page improved “wet” performance, would love to see a comparison with the Ping 4.0’s. I really like the fact that Mizuno offers a 55* loft in some grinds.

Been playing these for a few months since Octoberish (living in Japan). Tested these next to the MG3s, SM9, T22, and the RTX, and these provided the most consistent performance in spin, launch, and forgiveness. From the top they look like the typical blade wedge and feel the same but provided so much more forgiveness then the others.

I just picked up a 54°(10S) and it's blown me away. From around the green the launch and spin are just so consistent compared to my MD5 wedges. It's incredible how it just always comes out of the window I want to see. I'm finally seeing the ball take a backspin check-hop on low, nipped chips from greenside. I'm now swapping out my entire set (50/54/58) with the S23s.

I love my S18 wedges have them in 50, 54 and 58 although last season swapped out the 58 for RipCore 58. Hated the ES21s, just not for me. The S23s seem to be a clear improvement. It is just a shame that they do not come in the black finish that the S18s did

... Just got the S23s in a Satin 53/11S and 58/08C in DGS300 shafts to match in perfect with my AP3 set wedges (43PW and 48GW), giving me 5 degree increments and the centereed CG makes them friendly but at address still have a players look, don't feel game improvement at all, love them...

Mizuno - please put the loft on the sole of the club - not having it there makes it so hard to tell wedges apart once in the bag and covered up by other clubs.

The new S23 wedges from Mizuno achieve maximum spin thanks to the loft specific quad cut grooves milled into the Boron-infused 1025 mild carbon steel and Mizuno’s laser-etched HydroFlow Micro Grooves to channel moisture away from the impact zone faster for reduced spin loss in wet conditions.

Mizuno are claiming the S23 as designed to match the JPX 923 line, and be "blended" from them. The T22 (especially copper) are very soft feeling - and you say these are solid and JPX-like; design goal met, but are the true wedges or more high irons? A comparison, on whether these work to be as versatile as the T22s as "conventional" wedges, ditto against the JPX 923. What does consistency look like, switching back and forth? Not going to complain if better on full shots And will the T22 survive alongside. Was going to buy a summer lob wedge: Could mean a single lob S23 vs T22 Gap and Sand! ES21 was high toe, for "forgiveness on toe strikes" and had the centre strike. Didn't like them...

Finally manufacturers are starting to figure out that amateurs dont hit the heel and or heel center on a wedge strike. I'm a 6 and Im middle to middle toe on my wedge strikes. Just ordered the RTX 6 wedges (from Vokey) for that exact reason.

Couldn’t agree more. I’d even take it a step further and say that don’t get enough credit for their products across the board. Their metals since ST for me have been phenomenal. The ST-Z 220 is the best driver I’ve ever hit and as long as everything I tested. I’ve often wondered if their irons just overshadow everything else they do or if people just won’t give new stuff a chance.
