Mizoguchi-ha Itto-ryu Kenjutsu - 42nd Japanese Kobudo Demonstration (2019)

Спорт

Naganuma Noriaki Sensei and his students demonstrating Mizoguchi Haito-ryu Kenjutsu during the 42nd Nihon Kobudo Embutaikai held at the Nippon Budokan on February 3rd, 2019. The event also commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Nihon Kobudo Kyokai.
Mizoguchi-ha Itto-ryu Kenjutsu was founded in the early Edo period (ca. 1630) by Mizoguchi Jingozaemon Masanori, who was a student of Ono-ha Itto-ryu's second grand master, Ono Jiroemon Tadatsune. The curriculum of the school consists of five long sword techniques and three short sword techniques, all with an "omote" (outer, surface) and "ura" (inner / more sophisticated) version. As a traditional school of the Aizu clan, established in Fukushima, it is perpetuated in Fukushima Prefecture and its local kendo federation.

This is a really cool Kenjutsu style. I'd love to learn something like this.

This looks like a very practical style....I especially like that they aren't yelling 'yuuup' every strike.

Merci pour la partage c’est beau à voir et bien maîtriser. Il y a parfois des ressemblances avec des passage du kendo no kata.

I wonder if a underground full contact Kenjutsu fight club exist. That would be crazy to see.

    剣道・剣術のド素人です。時代劇の殺陣みたいにバチバチ木刀(刀)を打ち合うってより、その刀を持っている腕(小手?)を切るカウンターが多いのが面白い。

@@pompadour_gagarin1723 Thank you for clarification :) Shindo Munen-ryu and Hokushin Itto-ryu definitely look like Kendo, but the rest two seems strange. Whats funny is that Mizoguchi-ha Itto-ryu looks extremely realistic, and resembles Kendo so much, though its sensei were not involved in founding Kendo.
