    Thanks for the video. Is it a requirement to copy those files to the bios folder? What do those files do?

  • @MjolnirStone

    @MjolnirStone

    Жыл бұрын

    It isn't an absolute requirement but it is highly recommended. Basically, BIOS files would have been included on the original hardware. The Mini includes them so it is convenient to copy them over. Some emulators will run fine without them, while some run better with the original BIOS (rather than a "faked" one included with the emulator), while some simply will not work at all without them (Sega CD and others). Of course, you could find them online later if you want or need them.

    If you download rufus it is pretty straight forward. You just choose the memory card and select Fat32 (instead of NTFS or other options). Windows won't use Fat32 on a card that size, but rufus will.

    Don't worry. You don't *need* the things on the card. It just makes getting things like bios files easier. If you have no card, I recommend searching google for "tiny best set." I can't really say more than that or they will shut me down!

    I have 2 miyoo mini. Your SD card on the video can be less reliable and games in chinese because it doesn't come from the official Miyoo store. The official store only sends a 32gb card with the Miyoo Mini (no 64gb or 128gb). And most of the games are in english, I can confirm.

    Anybody know the max sd capacity? Just got mine and I'm wondering if i got a newer version with a worse dpad or what because i only heard good things. It's the worst I've ever used hands down.. no diagonals, character stopping movement, beyond game breaking for almost any game except side scrollers. Maybe a 3d print could fix it but the contact points look like they're the issue, they're so odd, not like any controller I've tore down

    exfat can take up to 2tb lol, just have to use larger blocks which maes things take up more space, im rollin with a 256 atm and have all games for like most of the list, plus some romhacks and translations and stuff and still have space leftover, 128 is nice but you get limited on psx or and CD based games you try to put, 256 lets ya get them, without upping the capacity to an unstable level (google says for miyoo to use 126 but exfat is stable in general and with that large variance of allowance , staying at 256 or 512 max is the safest, smartest choice

    also the difference between V1 and V2 of the mini is the buttons, the v1 has less space on the outside of buttons making it a more snug fit that pushes your buttons against the walls of the molding sadly, the v2 opens those molds up so they arent rubbing the shell of the device , might have a V1 brother, my condolences and in reference to the dpad sucking, it was made for up to PS1 and has no gpu so it cant do n64 ,psp, or similar systems, all of the qualifying consoles only had a standard quadradirectional dpad , i think some of the rg models have an analog stick for any dualshock kinda stuff you wanna play, but miyoo is mainly for ultraportability and extra usability, some stuff was sacrificed in design, and some games were MADE for controls like that, as a good comparison, play dino crisis or resident evil, then play medievil, medievil has a moving cam like sm64, but the movement in the game is just much more fluid , they just started with tank controls at first for a ton of games bc A. easiest to code B. its all they really had, psx was i think the first real gaming venture into 3d so they just picked a poor idea and ran with it , and C. tank controls add to the tenseness of horror games bc of lack of character speed, so it fit the genre and was the most common kinda thing at the time, sorry for all the paragraphs, i ramble when im high

    @@TheMeekMingeMaster Yeah I have heard about that tight dpad, it's definitely the v2 it's got plenty of space around the dpad. It's definitely something with the contacts, I get that a lot of rpgs, platformers etc are fine with quad movement but even ps1 all the way back to nes to atari all registered diagonals very reliably. Think yars revenge on Atari, gradius in nes. I can't scroll up cuz I'm already typing and I'm on my phone, did I say shooters? If I did I meant shmups/shoot em ups, a lot of older games with a space ship etc. For example, gradius 3 for snes one of my favorite games of all time, is playable on all of my emulator consoles, perfect on all my PC controllers, unfortunately unplayable on this device. I feel like I can get a diagonal movement to register 25% of the time. Oh well thanks for the replies man, I'm determined to get it working! Added a tiny bit of height to the center post and that helped a tiny bit. I don't see why people don't just copy the ps1 dmg nes or snes dpad 1for1 on handhelds tbh. And your good there i'm a paragrapher too man stream of thought ftw haha

    Man. For the ones saying this is too much, Maybe you need to look into something else. Most of these Emulation devices, you'll have to do some tinkering. Rarely ever are they plug and play like a regular console you'd buy from a store. That's the nature of this hobby. If you want plug and play, Get one of the classic consoles. This tutorial is very dumbed down, so its not " Too Much." You just need to inform yourself a little more on how emulation devices work, How bios files and roms are used, and how to troubleshoot small issues that emulators are known to have. If you aren't willing to learn. Then this product, and many others like it, are just not for you.

  • @MjolnirStone

    @MjolnirStone

    9 ай бұрын

    Yeah, as far as these types of devices go, this one is about as simple as it gets. Especially when paired with Onion, all the emulators the device supports are pretty much pre-configured and ready to go. You drop in BIOS files and ROMs (or copy them from the card that probably came with the device) and well, that's pretty much it. No tinkering with settings to try to squeeze out on extra 5 frames on PS2 games, or toying with upscaling. It's pretty much set it and forget it.
