Mixing Triads with Lisa Spangler
This is a recording of our live demo from Thursday, April 29th on mixing triads with our friend Lisa Spangler!
Lisa demonstrated how to make small pamphlet books and shared tips on mixing triads, featuring our Greenleaf & Blueberry CMYK Palette.
Lisa Spangler is a watercolor wanderer and color mixing experimenter, finding joy and wonder in using them, even when they’re misbehaving. Lisa lives in Austin, Texas, where she’s been a full-time artist since 2015.

This was so helpful and fun too!
This is a wonderful video. I intend to watch it a couple of times and start to work with triads. As a deaf individual, I want to express my thanks to both of you -- Maria and Lisa -- for the closed captioning. You both must have very clear voices because the captioning software seemed to do a great job and this helped me follow along. Perhaps if Lisa discusses making triads in the future, she can show how to do it with a container lid as she suggested? Ot maybe the 3-D printed triad template is available for sale?
I just ordered this set of paints from you. This demo was so informative! Really enjoyed. Now, i cant wait for my paints to arrive. Thank you!
Awesome video of great quality and informative for me as a newbie to watercolour

We're so glad you found it helpful!
I think there may be too much honey and if you live in a humid climate there will be a textural issue. Try freezing them for10 min! I find that solidifies them a bit and they are less tacky! However , this will only happen with certain colors👍🏻

Thanks for sharing your experiences, the freezer is a great tip!
love this video, which pigments are in these colours please , I couldn't find that on the webpage ? tvm
Apologies for missing this chat, ladies, but it's NFL draft week. When it comes to following athletes in the field, my preference for artistic-minded expeditionaries lies just a hare's hair below the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We men can only go thru life in the order of those with whom our active imaginations tells us we most identify with and certainly would strive to be like if we could, hey? It's sort of like art and mirrors. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure your menfolk understand.

@@arttoolkit I see now that came across as rude, Maria, and not as I had intended it to. Terribly sorry for that. Art toolkit loaded, water brushes holstered. Field full of wild things calls out. Warning! Danger ahead. O boy. Things could get rather sketchy...
