Mitsubishi Triton Athlete 2021 Road Review / YS Khong Driving

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Mitsubishi Triton of this current generation was launched in early 2019, and was one of the earliest pick-up trucks to feature Collision Mitigation and Lane Change Assist.
The Athlete version was recent introduced as the new flagship model in the series to keep the Triton abreast of its competition, and we got a chance to take it out for a test.
We have taken it up Genting to check out the handling, and it handled the corners very well. We took it earlier to Negri Sembilan for a drive and here is the video of the Triton Athlete on 'normal' roads.

YS, I thought as an ex-rally driver, you’ll mentioned about the Mitsubishi 4WD Super Select Gear which other similar category trucks (pickup) do not have. The 4WH is the beauty of this truck ( unlike others) which allow it to be driven on normal roads unless you switch to 4WHLc which is similar to others for off-roads.

For your info, for 4H mode it got a limited time usage and speed which can be used only under 110km/h for 1 hour on normal road otherwise your gearbox life span will be reduced. When driving on road , its better to use only 2H unless it is offroad then it will be different story . Thanks.

@@rokudoshinichee6279 thanks for the info. I’ve got from foreign car reviews about the 4H ( not the 4HLc ) in Mitsubishi that’s like the AWD that is not actually engaging the 4WD mechanism so it should not affect the 4W gears? There was no mention about the time limit and speed limit too. I couldn’t find that info from Mitsubishi too. May I know where is your source from?

All trucks are harder than cars, so don't have too high expectations. Amongst the trucks, perhaps the Navara would be the most comfortable, followed by Isuzu, then everybody else is about the same
