We didn’t reject it, not all, we knew what was to come, and we were right, most of us miss NSE, London Overground (ie devolving rail services to local regions) is perhaps the nearest we will get to having a return of NSE, it came about 10 years after privatisation

The NSE logo is simply Helvetica with an inner stroke- you can replicate it pretty easily using a vector editing program like Inkscape (which is free)

Thank you! I'm actually not all that great at editing, I've just been tinkering with video software on and off for a few years. Davinci Resolve is orders of magnitude more capable than I am.

It would be so cool if when Great British Railways comes into existence, they bring back the NSE branding and colors and do something like what burger kings done, where they take the old branding, and bring it back and make it a bit more modern but still retro and within the same general design

Btw what editing software do you use for these edits?

The free version of DaVinci Studio. The specific method I used here won't matter, since it's a full suite with a lot of options- just beware the free version locks off some ease of use and annoyingly needed features, but it's by far the best free editor.

I wouldn't be surprised if the actual NSE region goes on to become resurrected as a sector-like thing in a future nationalised system, but the NSE branding is in private ownership, has no meaning to the general public and an ever increasing number of rail fans, plus the liveries would all need updating anyway to suit modern tastes. NSE is gone for good, that's why I think it's so important to remember it

@@cubes165 Great British Railways is the umbrella term for who will be managing the big picture. Local services could still end up contracted to private operators.

I really like NSE/NNE

Virgin West Coast was also under Chris Greens work during the Pendolino and Voyager construction programs. Severely underrated and very honest miracle worker. If only more people were like Chris Green, honest and determined to serve the public.
