Mitski "My Love Mine All Mine" Official Lyrics & Meaning | Genius Verified

Музыка

Mitski found the chorus to her latest hit “My Love Mine All Mine” during a grocery store run. “I was walking home with groceries and it was really heavy," she tells GENIUS. "I tend to make up songs in my head when I really want to dissociate from the moment. So I was singing to myself and I was like, ‘Wait a minute. This is actually good!’ Once I got home, I put the groceries down and I recorded everything."
What began as a fun song to escape the grocery store blues took on a deeper meaning as it evolved. “There was something about realizing that my love is mine,” she adds. “Nothing else is mine. Everything else, including myself, is going to deteriorate and go away. But as long as I hold onto my love, no one can take it from me…It’s just this unlimited resource.”
On today’s episode of VERIFIED, Mitski explains the meaning behind this deeply evocative track, but also expounds on love, death, and the moon’s eternal light. “My Love Mine All Mine” appears on Mitski’s newest album, “The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We.”

@@piedoo34Where😭😭 😭. There's nothing sad girl about this song, not about breakups or being cheated on or longing for love etc. It's about love as a whole, not just between partners, it's about all the love you have that you can share with the world as the most beautiful gift you could give, "sad girl music" and all other categories made by the internet recently are extremely reductive, artist are people, and people are more than one thing. Especially mitski, who experiments with multiple genres and subjects throughout her discography

God, Mitski’s lyricism is out of this world. The way she captures human emotion so well makes me feel so understood in such a big world where I hold little significance. I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Mitski perform live on her Laurel Hell Tour in March of 2022 and for that, I will forever be grateful. There’s no experience quite like it. The soul in not only her song and lyrics but also her dance is breathtaking. Truly a gem, that woman.

This song is so comforting to me like hearing Mitski say “Nothing in the world belongs to me but my love mine all mine all mine” it’s like something in my brain clicked and suddenly I realized how sweet and powerful that thought is. I know my comment will be one of MANY, but I need to say this. Mitski is an artist who LITERALLY saved my life, I met her at the worst moment of my life, I thought she would be "another artist" for my playlist... But in reality it was VERY different. Mitski made me fall in love with life, the world and people. Which honestly, was something I hadn't felt since I had discovered several bad things while I was growing up, she is an essential artist for the world and especially for people! I REALLY wanted to express my love and gratitude to her because I definitely don't know what I would do if I was still drowning immensely in my feelings and the words I couldn't express and explain! All of her songs helped me recognize and understand this. Thank you for this, Mitski, you are literally EVERYTHING.

Such a heavenly angelic voice edit, its not about having that squeaky voice or that whistle voice, its the comforting voice that mitski has, it's the relaxing mothery voice. Everytime i hear this song i tear up coz i remember my mother that is long gone now. I miss her, she was my angel.

I don't think Mitski will see this, but I hope she knows her love WILL be here after she's gone. We hear her love in her music, it gives us love of our own, and that will continue even after she dies. She's made an impact on so many people, and some of those people will make an impact on others: a chain of love, started by her but here after her.

dude hearing this is so empowering because , this for me started out as a sad hours song , then became a song I associated with a crush/ship stuff, then one to appreciate my self worth , and hearing her interview really makes me happy because of the full circle-ness of it all . I was there for myself the most when I needed it. I was there for myself when I felt like a monster to those around me , and I cried under the moonlight questioning if it was worth it anymore . These days I wondered if I was even living for myself or for those around me , and I realized , things don't have to be all that complicated. You don't need to have a profound reason to live , and love yourself , it can just be , and continue as such. Yeah , life does suck at times , no doubt , but it is also strangely beautiful , as that freedom is choice is mine even if it doesn't feel as such at times
