In my rewritten version of this movie, the opening sequence features Whiff pulling a goods train to the SSRC. His brakes break while climbing Gordon's hill. Then a suspenseful runaway sequence happens. He makes it all the way to the tunnel. Whiff gets curious and ventures into the tunnel. Suddenly it starts to rumble, and tunnel starts to collapse. He makes it out just in time before the dirt pile from the climax forms. He tries to tell Sir topham hatt what just occured, but Hatt is too busy to pay attention.

@@eggmanishere Well I have other ideas, like Diesel coming with Whiff and Percy, Removing the part where Gordon, Edward, and James search for Thomas, Having Ferdinand be a fatherly figure, and the reason why Thomas has to travel by ship is because the Vicarstown bridge is broken in its up position.

I also want to make Thomas more of a likeable protagonist, and make the Logging Locos less annoying, (Making Bash and Dash similar to Bill and Ben and making Ferdinand a fatherly figure.) And maybe give a backstory to how Misty Island was created.

The logging loco’s are not only crazy, but they’re railway is unsafe. The lumber zip line & the shake, shake bridge. As for the giant log tunnel, is kinda cool. Like I know it’s weird that someone would make that giant log into a tunnel, but looks creative to me. Also how did Whiff know about that tunnel that was right next to the search and rescue center? He haven’t been on the island that long? Also where is all the other Jobi wood at, it just disappeared and left with only three flatbeds full?

To me, the film is on the levels of bad, meh, and decent. The rhythming is pretty bad. The Logging Locos are a little overhated. The chase scene with Thomas and Diesel was rather cool. The Fat Controller's line to Thomas is so wholesome. The final scene just after end credits was something that really took me off guard! So overall, MIR is not the best movie, but I wouldn't say that it's the worst (As I can think of a certain movie that is WAY worse... *Cough-Cough* BWBA...) How I Would Improve MIR: 1. Thomas' role is replaced with Fergus, Whiff's role is replaced with Glynn and Percy's role is replaced with Bill & Ben. 2. The Whole Movie is in the style of S5 and TATMR. 3. Ferdinand acts more like a father figure towards Bash and Dash. 4. Misty Island used to be a part of Sodor, however, during World War 1, the island got cut off from the rest of the world. 5. The controller of the Logging Locos is someone who doesn't really care much for safety. 6. We get a flashback on how the Logging Locos came to the island. 7. The only people, aside from the engine crews, who live on Misty Island are the staff, the townspeople and the Lumberjacks who all live in fear of the controller. 8. The Logging Locos and people all escape to Sodor with Fergus, Glynn, Bill and Ben. 9. After the Misty Island controller is arrested, the line leading to Misty Island is ripped up and the tunnel is boarded up. 10. The Fat Controller buys the Logging Locos and assigns them to work in Henry's Forest with Henry.

Imo I used to like this movie as a kid I never understands the hate but as I'm now 17 years old and seeing it again, I fully understand like this movie is insulting! What the hell were they thinking? Changing almost every character from extremely likeable to extremely unlikeable, including the Logging Locos, especially I hate Ferdinand the most for his infamous quote "That's right!" That quote is so annoying! Thomas was also unlikeable!

AEG is perfectly fine as a kids show disconnected from the franchise, Nitrogen Thomas and MIR aren't good as Thomas media, and also aren't good as their own thing.

@@heavyrailz When I said "Nitrogen stuff" and implied it was bad, it doesn't take much thought to realize that those were probably excluded. Since it evidently has spelled out, obviously yes, HoTR and BMM are great, but like, a few gems in a bad spot doesn't negate the fact the majority is still awful lmao. Mind you I haven't watched very much of AEG or even BWBA, I just think that the former is overall better quality media than most of the Miller era content in which I HAVE seen all of it at least once. AEG is a decent pretty standard kids show, and a bad Thomas show. Most (since I have to preface with this apparently) Nitrogen stuff is an awful and repetitive kids show, while simultaneously being a bad Thomas show as well. Regardless, this is all subjective and my own personal opinion so you don't have to reply with vaguely inflammatory responses that insuiate that it's somehow _my_ fault that the series is bad now because I personally think that one thing (which I still don't like btw) is better than another thing.

Misty Island Rescue is certainly by far the worst Thomas & Friends movie with all of the stupid repetitive rhyming, which (annoyingly) went on throughout the Sharon Miller Era. However, the return of Diesel 10 at the very end of the movie was certainly a cliff-hanger!

Is it just me, or do the engine's pupils move really quickly in Nitrogen's animation?

This is probably the worst Thomas special I've ever seen. The rhyming is at its worst, its moral is racist and insulting, every decision made in this film is as dumb as they get, the new characters are laughable, the voice acting and narration in both dubs are terrible, and the whole concept of the film and reasoning for its existence is absolutely abysmal. I do admit the animation was fantastic for its time, and I really love Topham's one liner at the end of the movie, but that's about it. Bottom of the list for me.
