I would love to see content with in-depth commentary on the LORE of the MTG storylines (and as of the release of this video, how BAD the lore currently is). Without the critical pressure from your massive community, WOTC will still think it's okay to put out the awful stuff they currently are. It's so bad, the channel "Fantasy Geographic" (with the Magic Historian) just quit putting out content in the middle of the Thunderbox Junction story. And you can see the despair behind the eyes of Ryan at Magic Arcanum. Etc.

I love Prof and JLK together, they really take their time to talk like friends that happen to be colleagues

It's always great to see how the two of them are so close, that not only do you see them praising each other and talking each other up so much, but when they sit down for a game, the two of them love to poke fun at each other and occasionally shit talk. They both have so much respect for each other; they're truly inspiring people in the mtg community.

​@@vipergtsrgt1 Same. I enjoy people being brutally authentic vs currated. There's nothing wrong with things being scripted, but I MUCH prefer to feel like I'm engaging in a conversation amongst friends than solely consuming curated content.

The part that stuck out to me is how happy JLK was to hear Prof was happy too. Two of the most wholesome personalities in the game hyping each other up

I'm surprised Josh didn't start tearing up after Prof made the statement starting 16:27, that was an incredible profession of appreciation by Prof. He saw right into the heart of the work Josh is doing and it's rare to have friends who see into your effort so well.

As a creator, I loved this conversation. It's always a pleasure to hang out with the Prof and hearing what he has learned from JLK is heart warming.

The fact that Josh, of all people, was about to genuinely say, "Dude! And that's the best fucking thing!" Like a teenager shows just how real this friendship is. Hard to say it's not inspiring to listen to!

Prof & JLk probably my favourite combo in magic NGL. Even more than green & black.

I knew Jimmy from old FreddieW and Corridor stuff and VGHS was such a pivotal moment for what I realized the internet could be. I love that project so much and when I started getting into Magic a few years ago and saw that Jimmy was co-host for the podcast and the gameplay I fell in love with Command Zone.

I didn't realize for the longest time that I knew about Jimmy from VGHS. It had been so long that I just didn't remember.

The fact that Wizards doesn't send review product to The Prof is some corporate level bullshit.

We definitely need more companies that are built from the ground up and actually care about their employees.

As someone with a very small channel dedicated to Magic, this is a very interesting video. My channel is currently just about explaining Magic rules, so I don't expect it to grow very much covering that, but over time I do hope to grow it and do a lot more content like gameplay videos and deck building strategies from a bit of a different perspective. So thank you for this video and I hope I don't have many massive setbacks over the years.

I've been subscribed to you for a while, not as long as Command Zone, but I think around a year and a half or so, and I have learned so much while watching your videos. I learned about them from someone at work, a lot of us play Magic during work when we get a chance and some of us meet up at an LGS to play and we always look forward to guessing wrong on your bonus questions and such. Thanks for the content and it's cool you're getting to see this video from Command Zone and let it help you out with your channel.

I loved this episode. Its inspiring for a small channel like us. Right now we film in my living room. We use old (but not ancient) cell phones as our cameras now, after experimenting with cheap amazon “4k” cameras. I edit every episode on my own PC which is barely capable. I taught myself how to edit, and do everything else myself too. I hope someday i am able to employ my friends and others and give them a great workplace like you have built.

It is always great to see behind the scenes in what it takes to make and manage content, especially at the level that The Command Zone and Tolarian Community College create! Thank you for sharing this. I hope that I'm able to take this advice and knowledge and apply it when I eventually get to making my own content!

I always loved when Josh and Prof did their show together. It's how I learned about the command zone in the first place. I would love to see that come back in some form, or that round table show CZ did a while back. That being said I would love a comedy series.

I remember those old episodes when The Command Zone was audio only fondly. I wasn’t in a great place in regards to how my life was going, practically living out of my car due to all of the commuting the soul destroying job I was at required. But one thing that made the driving a lot more bearable wa this EDH podcast I found on whatever app I was using at the time. Where the two hosts had a good rapport, fun energy, and legitimately good advice. Thank you guys, the last decade of episodes has been a blast and I can’t wait to listen to (and watch) the next ten years

There is alot to learn here for ppl, perhaps us men in particular. The way Josh owns up and doesn't distribute resposibility for messing up is an example to follow for many. Also the way they talk about rheir problems and showing underlaying emotions and support is showing ppl how to handle difficult situations and times in their life that needs to be adressed for being healthy. I have so much respect for the way these ppl talk to eachother and help each other. I wish i had a friend like that..

Thanks for turning the cameras on for this. As a full time, mid-level, one-person-show MTG KZread creator these high level talks from the top of the business are priceless. 🙏🏻

As someone starting a videogame company amidst the toughest time of my life this has been very motivating. Genuinely, thanks for this cool under-the-hood chat.

Love this video. It’s so brave of you two to speak on stuff like this and it makes everyone involved in both your teams look better because of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this no script conversation podcast. Maybe not for every episode but I, for one, very much enjoyed this. Also, getting a peek behind the curtain was so cool. As much as we all like CZ already, this really humanized you which is just cool. A+

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes you guys have done! I love that you took a stab at it and weren't sure if it would work, but I can assure you -- it absolutely did!

I kinda love that the community grew out of people like The Prof and Josh and so on, these really good and kind people. Focusing on paying people for their work is so important... I don't make money but I'm constantly trying to find ways to add value to stuff the people I get involved with are doing.

Favorite episode in ages. Love the back and forth and the perspectives Prof brings.

I LOVED profs ads where he is kinda all ... whatever about his product. It makes me way more interested than when something is fiercely marketed towards me.

This is awesome, it's clear how much respect and absolute joy these guys have for each other, and the fact that they don't view each other's channels as competition but rather as psuedo-colleagues and friends is absolutely amazing. Love you guys, hope you grow even more in this new space!

Seeing real life content about progress, goals, mistakes ,etc is really awesome to hear

Its nice to see two of the stalwarts of the MTG content creation field talking about how important it is to share your profits fairly with the people who do labor for you, even if the labor is just being a guest on a podcast.

I really appreciate this. It’s easy to get entrepreneurs to talk about their successes and brilliant decisions; people are naturally much less eager to exhume their failures, but that’s also incredibly useful and informative to hear about. Fascinating peek behind the curtain.

I love magic and I got into it maybe 3-4 years ago. I have to say both TCC and The command zone are my absolute favorite channels. I watch your videos to learn to play better, to pass time, and even to fall asleep (the jokes and laughter are enjoyable). Both channels are great and watching this video has made my day.

Thank you guys for the content you produce. I’m brand new to MTG only a few weeks deep and the catalogue of content portfolios produced by both channels has been extremely beneficial to my enjoyment and education about the game. Appreciate the candid nature of this discussion. I will say though that I believe a creative company's success should not be measured solely by growth. The video game industry is currently seeing the consequences of focusing on growth as a metric. There is nothing wrong with putting out the same premium quality content that we've all grown to love.

Thanks for publishing something like this, I don't work in this type of space (media) at all, but for anyone who is this is an amazing resource. Not many people are this candid about their failures or successes. The appreciation you two have for one another has never been more evident, kudos to a great working relationship, but more importantly a great friendship.

Gentlemen, this was a refreshing piece of content to watch. I feel like it makes all of your fans, myself included, appreciate the final product both channels produce even more now.
