The UK system is a completely government run health system. The US is a collection of states and the city systems. The US system would be more free market than the UK system. The distance from New York to Los Angeles is further than London to Moscow. Some US counties are bigger than Wales. This is the reason why the US system is more complex and diverse than the UK system and layered on top of that is the private marketplace healthcare. The US system is a melting pot while the UK is more of a controlled system.

thanks for the q. yes absolutely depending if the fellowship is in demand. for instance trauma is not really in demand so it's easier to get a critical care fellowship....but it's harder to get that fellowship at a "more prestigious" institution. so the better the residency the easier it is to get the fellowship at the institution and location that you want. almost exactly like high school going into college, or college going into med school

Can i ask something doctor parker?can a general surgeon operate a guy his spine ?have you ever did that or always it has to be neurosurgeon?

So how much is your study hack course. All the different prices on your website are confusing me... is it 297/yr or 97x 12 month payments??

What are your thoughts on going into radiology, or radiologists in general? I actually work in medical imaging now and I really like it. I'm taking a non-traditional route. Just graduated with my undergrad and doing prerequisites right now. Im hoping to apply in 2019.

Radiology is a fantastic specialty. Great money, well respected (I respect and really enjoy working with most radiologists) and I think it’s really fun. Only bad part is you are in a dark room all day everyday.

we do have exams. Ours is called the "American Board of Surgery In Training Examination" or ABSITE. It's every January.

For sure : right after residency young surgeons are good at almost nothing and they are destined to make DAILY mistakes for many years to come.They need to be acutely aware of it. Also their patients MUST be informed about their lack of experience and all the risks associated with it. They do need lees time devoted to skiing and / or other outdoor facilities...... They need to be humble. Very few of them are. Unfortunately.

Rondie Rice when your in the operating room your specifically focused on that task dumbass and surgeries sometimes last hours and they have to get stamina dumbasss. Also if they didn’t work as much many people wouldn’t be getting treated quick enough dumbass. You have no critical thinking skills and are a dumbass lmao

I have a background in editing and recording performances, and I minored in English in college. I responded to Dr. Parker’s request for feedback in lieu of a thumb down (I would not have ‘Thumbs Down’, I’m just saying his request was for feedback). Dr. Parker has mentioned several times his desire to get view & subscribership up for his videos & concise title/description matching closely to what is presented is strongly correlated to increased viewership, likes, & subscribers. TL;DR - I responded to what he asked for with something I’m good at. Why, pray tell, are you taking personal offense of, or introducing yourself into, a situation for which your presence can offer no improvement?

Dude you are only proving me point about drs using me as a Ginny pig please get more education and keep getting it and dr should be like lawyers 30min to see if you can take care of me to my standards not yours and grow thick skin people in pain don't have any patience with your attitude with us and i send drs back to school for not doing anything for me but drugs but will make sure I bring me dr cookies so he can get me healthy
