Missouri River Trotlining for Giant Catfish
Trotlining, limb lining, jug lines, bank poles and throwlines can be a great way to catch catfish. I put out a couple trotlines on the Missouri River and caught a nice mess of catfish. I always release fish over 20lbs as I enjoy catching them on rod and reel and it allows catfish populations to stay healthy. The 66lber and 35lb were both released to grow bigger and produce many more smaller catfish.

Whats the lead levels in the area of the Missouri River you fish? I live in St. Charles Missouri and "NEVER" eat any fish out of either the Missouri or Mississippi rivers here lead levels are too high even after purging them. Fun video, thumbs up!

I've been wondering the same thing. Most of the boats I see in the Liberty Missouri area are 17+ feet with 40+ HP. I guess it all depends on your knowledge of river navigation and how fast you want to get upriver.

They have destroyed the trophy fishery here in virginia. So sad we practiced catch and release for the profit of a few. Not for our kids to know the fun of catching these trophy fish .
