In this Video John takes a moment while we off grid camp to share how everything has been working for the last year. He shares what others are doing along with his honest opinion of the Mission Overland Summit. Please come along. You will even see a sneak peak of what we are up too with the coming future build.
If you haven't watched any of John's videos. Stop and take a moment to watch all of them and follow him on Instagram. You will realize he is just a wealth of knowledge. He has dedicated his retirement to getting out and hitting the trails while overlanding. We have learned so much from him and been inspired to get out and do it. He is truly an amazing, giving and helpful person.
Filmed with the DJI OSMO X5 Gimbal, Sound - DJI Mic System (BRAND NEW JUST RELEASED) set in Mono. Our first content with the all new DJI Mics. While we have a lot to learn about how to use the two of them the best, we are extremely happy with the level of quality of all their products used to create this content. Shot with a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Also just added Epidemic Sound.
First Mission Overland walk around tour. Hard to believe it's been a year.

Thank you Nathan. Yes the Mission Overland Camper are amazing. With the $10,000 price increases in one year has me scratching my head. Starting at $45,000 I'd really have to look at all my options. When we first filmed this the camper came in around $38,000 2 other folks in the area have them. Don't get me wrong they only use some of the best components on the market. I know everything has gone up. This is why we are switching gears with our Expedition Flatbed build. Stay tuned to the channel we have plans to build an overland camper. As for the Mission Overland Summit, just take some time to watch a bunch over Overland Expo tours to see all your choices. What other campers may also fit your needs. Hope this helps. ~Mark

Ours is a 2020 and we have the back window which was a special request. They made some original units with it which is how we saw it. Love the ventilation.

Heather almost asked if you and Tim wanted to join us. But I thought you both had a first trip planned around that time. We would love to do a walk around tour when we get to meet up. If the two of you would be up for it. The upper window has to be so nice. I could see in that space how wonderdul it would be to have it. Based on the sitting and the bed set up Beaune able to see the light from those advantage points. They really should just make that standard in all of them. Camping end May/first of June if intrested? 🙂 Just have to find an open spot. Mid week seems to be the only openings at this time. Mark (& Teresa)

@@OutOfOfficeCamping we will definitely get together this summer. End of May beg of June is our trip to KY. I will reach out after we get back to see how schedules look. We have WV for July 4th weekend and Maine for Labor day week. And Expo East in October. But hope to get local forests in between these trips 🙂

@@spencerwelch5552 Totally agree very fitting to both of John's rigs. I guess we should have some Zamp panels on our build. Maybe ditch the HQST Panels and upgrade? If there is any indication to your avatar you know. Just some amazing things these days with solar and battery options. The new norm continues to become bigger and bigger. 300-400 Ah batteries, 400 watt folding solar panels. Just amazing stuff. If only I could convince John to switch to LiFePO4 one day. But hey I get it he camps in extream cold temps. But they do make heated batteries. 🙂 Thank you Spencer. Any others words of wisdom you could share regarding Zamp for our viewers?

Johnny is a great guy! When I had a NoBo 10.5 with a Batwing awning, I purchased the sidewalls too. They really gave the outdoor space a whole new feel. A lot to set up, but if you were going to be at one place for a while or had some bad weather, they were great.

While we don't have an awning yet on our rig we totally agree. We enjoy taking a Clam tent. But it too takes a little time 1 minute to set up and space with the over all size. But nothing like being apart of the outdoors. I have to say the awning that comes standard on the Mission Overland Camper is very nicely build. How did you like your NoBo 10.5 and what do you have now? I feel like they have a very nice floor plan and compared to other Overland Campers price isn't that bad. ~ Mark

@@OutOfOfficeCamping I really disliked the NoBo. It was basically an expensive glorified box on wheels. Shoddy build quality. You can't stand up inside. The awning didn't cover the outdoor kitchen area. I owned it less than a year. Went back to a ground tent. No need to tow anything, practical and inexpensive. I had Gazelle tents for a while (T3, then T4, then back to a T3). The I bought a ShiftPod Mini which was a much nicer material than the Gazelle. But the downside of those hub tents is the entryway shape is awkward and I was always catching my foot entering and exiting. And they don't offer any sort of vestibule. I actually ended up selling the ShiftPod to Johnny! Now I have an Oztent RV4 as my primary camp setup. Not a cheap tent by any means. But it's very spacious, great material and build quality and has a built-in awning. I can even purchase side walls and a front wall to completely close off the front awning area if I choose to. It's large and heavy, but when it's set up, it's absolutely amazing.

@@JonathanSmith01 O my God now I can connect the dots. He's told us all about you. Even the shift pod story that's so cool. I remember when my wife who follows you on Instagram was telling me about your cut trees at your place. Need not say more on that one. Yes I could see that about the build quality from a company like Forest River. As for commercial campers I've always loved the NuCamp products. Ofcourse what doesn't have issues right. This is why we are building our own stuff. This way we can only blame our selves and build the next one better. I like the tent idea. I was talking to John about when we last camped couple weeks ago. That how I enjoy following Ronny Dahl, 4 Wheeling Australia. They all seem to use only tents. So different then here in the states. Thank you for your honest feedback on the NoBo camper. I've only seen them on the road. Never in person. Definitely looking forward to meeting you. ~M
