In the fall of 2011, Hockey Canada and the makers of MARS® helped the community of Grand Manan, N.B., build a much-needed heated mezzanine at the Grand Manan Community Centre. This heated area was so important because unlike most rinks which are cooled below the ice, the Grand Manan arena is top down cooled, making the temperature in the arena down right freezing, and less than ideal for spectators.
