In the 80's and 90's I had 3 Gran Prix, 1 Grand Am and a Corsica with the 3.1 Liter....always kept my cars spotless and to avoid that aluminum oxidation in the engine compartments I detailed and were just as clean as the rest of the car. Great cars but in time injectors had to be replaced and intake manifold issues. Great cars though dependable, but I think the detail might be worth more than the car in this case. Nice detail though.

Well there's a third option as well which is more common then what people might think and since the other guy didn't wanna mention it I will yes people have a right to disappear but what if it wasn't a disappearance maybe he was heading to work and the guy accidentally drove in a lake you just never know ok maybe he did want to start a new career a new life who knows or maybe it was something more sinister Who knows try and. See if he Had any family around at the time to give them the car if he's truly missing then he's gotta have family somewhere That car is a mid 80s to at least a 88 make of a cavalier reason I know is I had one similar to that
Those early 90s Cavaliers were sharp looking cars, and this one really cleaned up well. The question I have is, why did the landlord just let the house rot for 15 years after the guy went missing? It would've made a lot more sense to put the stuff that wasn't trash in a storage container in case he shows up again and keep making money renting the house.
@ultraflem

Maybe auto pay from bank accounts was still working, and the owner never bothered to check on it for 15 years, as too many with too many rental properties will get lazy about them checking them, when have long term tenants paying on time, and not complaining about anything
@leosmith848

It could be a leahl nicety, a period of time necessary before death can be declared on a missing person and his assets seized to pay his debts etc.And looking at te state of the house, I suspect the landlord would rather claim insurance and sell it than have to fix it.
@ischmidt

It's good to see you guys treating cars like these as biohazards, because they are. I know you guys are young and healthy, but it doesn't take a lot of lung exposure to cause damage. Great video as always guys. The white powder on the engine cover may have been caused from the battery fumes eating away at the aluminum intake cover over the years. I think also that cars very good looking. The Z lines they did with their car line up (Z24. Z34 lumina, Z26 beretta etc) really did the trick to spruce up the otherwise boring models. It will be the cleanest car in the scrapyard for sure!! NO way you'll ever make that roadworthy. The corrosion that's visible on the aluminum pales in comparison to the condition of the brake lines and electrical system componentry. Sad, too because that was a sweet and pretty loaded up Cavalier.

Really nice to see that 2nd gen shine up like that. Really brings back memories. I worked as a detailer many moons ago, and I’ve NEVER seen a worm or any living thing for that matter, come out of a carpet!! Lol!😂
The white powder is simply corrosion that occurs with aluminum when it sits and gets moisture on it. Cleaned up well, you guys always do an amazing job!! 💯!!! The wheels have a clear coat over the aluminum that yellows and spots over time. If the clear is stripped off they can be polished to look great! Interesting story, would be great if you somehow found the guy, sounds like he either doesn't want to be found or is dead.😢

It was electric blue, 5-gear stick shift and the only one in Northern Europe at the time, imported from California, so no rust at all. I put some white racingstripes on it, it had a stainless steel straight pipe and i got to say, with that light body, the V6 MPFI made a beautiful sound and was reasonably quick. It had a plethora of "features", the plastics inside were all wobbly, it made squeaks and rattles, you could open the door and start the car with any key that would fit the lock, including my gym locker key :D And despite that, out of all the cars i've owned over 20 years, this one was special and the most fun to drive. I really regret selling it, wish i kept it as a sunday-driver, a project car that i could pass on to my son when he's old enough, but oh well.

As for the missing person, although unlikely in this case, there is a file open on this type of missing people. The scary thing is, and it is completely true, I have verified it, there are locations all over America where people just vanish. The detective on this case has made a nationwide map. People go out, vanish, and then reappear hours, days, or even years later, or not at all, and sometimes dont even reappear in the same area, and to them, it's still the same time as when they disappeared. Some theorize wormholes or dimensions, but the stories are all the same, and the locations are uniform around the country. I had a hard time believing it till I was shown the evidence. Scary as Hell.

No 1 fan from the philippines #THE BEST DETAILING in the World WD🙂
One of my favorite cars growing up!!!! crazy story line
OH MAN U GUYS REALLY FIXED AN OLD RUSTER INTO. A BEAUTIFUL CLEAN RIDE 👍👍
Cavaliers were so under rated!
I had one for more than 25 years and wish I had it great service it gave me ❤
One of my favorite cars in my younger years. Would love to pick one up as a project.
Great job!! The corrosion on the aluminum bits under the hood is from how much condensation there was in that garage. You can see even the wheels are corroded and they’re clear coated from the factory. Nothing under this hood is. I use an aluminum brightener(for pontoon cleaning) on bits like that. Be careful of course it’s an acid. Let sit for about a minute rinse and repeat until it’s clean. Then coat it in something to protect it in the future, as it will corrode again very quickly.
This car is worthy to bring back to life
I love this generation of Caviler. Had a 94 Convertible a while back
Oh man look at all those old logos on the pop bottles and wrappers inside the car! So cool to see
Those were on the road every where back in da day, I remember the sales event commercials brings back memories. Friend of mine had a all black Z24 . Nice job on clean up.

Those cavalier z24 were pretty hot cars back in the 90’s. My brother had one and they were actually pretty quick cars.
That guy is probably at the bottom of some lake with concrete boots.

I used to be a mr.goodwrench at a Chevy dealership n work on a lot of those cars ...those aluminum intake plenums all ways oxidize n have white spots all over them..Those z24s were fun to drive...n I got really quick at removing and reinstalling the interior in those and the Berettas
Job well done ...love the drain floor , great video .
