This is the most amazing opening in Miss Universe history, a lot of rehearsal and a lot of preparation. Philippines showned how there culture are so rich. 🇵🇭 ❤️ Still 2020 but I commented here so very late after 26 years ago hahha

2016 may have the bigger venue in the SM Mall of Asia Arena, international megastars in Flo Rida and Boyz II Men performing and it was bolder and fiercer live party, but the 1994 edition showcased more class and elegence and more of the PH culture and customs. Also, there were local talents performing that night.

During That time we have two Miss Universe from the Philippines but right now we have four Miss Universe from Philippines

The best stage built for a pageant up to now. Even the LED screen used nowadays cant compete and will be put into shame. Spectular indeed!

I saw Miss Gloria Diaz in personal when I was in Colleges,she was the most beautiful woman na pumarada noon sa Metro Manila Film Festival ,2nd Alma Moreno,3rd Nora Aunor because of her kayumanggi and beautiful face, walang makeup at Atsay yata yung pelikula niya noon at si Ms Gloria Diaz yung Pinakamagandang hayup sa Balat ng Lupa,sila lang 3 ang nakakuha ng aking attention noon napakatagal ng panahon mga 1977/78 yun kahit napakaraming artistang magaganda pero para sa akin silang 3 ang pinakamaganda.

I was blessed at age of 16 yrs old, I was able to see in person Miss Unverse 1994 delegates and the host, etc. at PICC.. plus national costume in araneta coliseum where ms phils charlene gonzales won.. then, i watched it here too in USA in 1919, 2020 as VIP. i covered LIVE in my ch. God bless us :)

Ang paborito noon ng mga Pinoy, si Minorka Mercado (Venezuela), Carolina Gomez (Colombia), Christel Roelands (Belgium) and of course Charlene Gonzales. Pero ako, gustong gusto ko noon si Miss Namibia. Nakakatuwa yung personality niya. Sarap na sarap siya sa biko noong nag-dinner party sila sa Intramuros. Tapos siya pa ang nanalong Miss Universe sa mock pageant na ginawa bago nag-finals.

hindi na tayo great that time. Mataas na ang crime rate at tadtad ng brownout nuong mga panahon na ito. In fact, nuong pinagplanuhan nuong 1993 na dito gaganapin ang 1994 MU andaming tumaas ang kilay kase ongoing ang power crisis that time tadtad ng rotating brownouts nuong mga panahon na ito.

I remember this being so bongga at that time. The Philippines gave its best talaga. I was so proud. I was only 11 years old though. And did you guys saw Michelle Van Eimeren? Ang cute nya.

The stage director placed Miss Jamaica sa middle to send a message of goodwill to everyone. That time, madami kasi nagalit sa Jamaica kasi natalo nya si Ruffa sa Miss World 1993. Sana wag natin awayin ang Miss Colombia ngayon para marealize nila king gaano ka-hospitable ang mga pinoy :)

I miss the Miss Universe when at the opening number all candidates wear their national costume showing their culture and how diverse the world is then dance and sing after that spectacle the gorgeous ladies introduce themselves in their national costume. That's how I loved the Miss Universe in the first place I wish they bring that back and so I may see it again in my lifetime hehe
