I always remember this moment that I study in Taiwan on that period, Is so proud of you Miss Universe 1988 from Thailand Miss Pornthip

Wow this is 30 years ago .... still the best opening production!!! Bravo Taiwan!!!

She's proud of thai the beautiful From her personality and how she answered a question, I am so confident that Miss Thailand deserved to be Miss Universe 1988.

🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰 Miss Hong Kong Pageant 1987 are the best year for them. The winner Pauline Yeung receive winner title and Miss International Goodwill during MHK 1987. She won as 4th runner-up in Miss Universe '88 and got a title Queen of Asia at Miss World '87. The 1st runner-up Elizabeth Lee won Miss Photogenic during the semi-final of MHK '87 after that she represent HK at Miss Wonderland '88 and be able to make it to top 15 Finalists. Then, the 2nd runner-up Wing Lam won the Miss Photogenic at Miss International '87 because her teeth seems like japanese-trendy-crooked tooth fashion during that time. Last but not least, Betty Cheung who is won Miss Popularity during MHK '87 also won Miss Photogenic at Miss International '89. Surely this is the glory day of HK annual beauty pageant during 1987-1989. ❤️💞💕💞💕💞💕❤️

For the most part, contestants from Hong Kong looked much better at MHK than at their respective national pageants. I always felt TVB sabotages their winners so they wouldn't win, because if they do, they would not be available to appear in their endless TV dramas.

Taiwan did it very well. The best opening show with great song and good special effect (fireworks, national flags, etc.) ปีนั้น ไต้หวันเปิดการประกวดได้สวยงาม, เลือกเพลงมาแสดงได้ดี, มีเทคนิคพิเศษที่ดี (พลุไฟ, ธงชาติโบก, ฯลฯ)

สวยจริงๆๆค่ะกิริยามาทยาทก็สวย พูดจาก็ไพเราะเหมาะสมกับตำแหน่ง จริงค่ะ

ดูที่ไร ประทับใจทุกที กับชุดไทยสีม่วงเม็ดมะปราง

พี่ปุ๋ยแต่งหน้าเบาๆสดใส แลดูธรรมชาติ มองเห็นตอนไม่แต่งก้อยังสวยนี่ข้อหนึ่งที่กรรมการนำมาตัดสิน จมูกไม่โด่งมากเป็นเสน่ห์ต้องตาต่างชาติเลยค่ะ พี่ปุ๋ยสวยสมกับตำแหน่งที่ได้รับค่ะ

ชอบพี่ปุ๋ยพูดแนะนำตัวมาก ไม่ต้องกระชากเสียงตะโกนออกมาให้ดังเหมือนคนอื่น มาแบบนิ่ม ๆ แต่เห็นชัดว่าโดดเด่น แตกต่าง ทำไมต้องทำเหมือนคนอื่น นางงามไทยสมัยนี้ชอบตะโกนตามประเทศอื่นหมด ขาดเสน่ห์ไปมาก อยากให้นางงามยุคนี้ศึกษาวีดิโอพี่ปุ๋ยตอนประกวดให้มาก ถึงแม้ยุคสมัยจะเปลี่ยนไปมาก แต่ควรจะดูให้ละเอียดว่าพี่ปุ๋ยอยู่บนเวทีเป็นยังไง แววตา การยิ้มการสื่อสารจากอากัปกิริยาเล็ก ๆ น้อย ๆ บางอย่างทำให้พี่ปุ๋ยแตกต่าง เป็นตัวของตัวเอง อยากเห็นนางงามจักรวาลคนที่สามเป็นคนไทยอีกครั้งค่ะ

ใช่เลยจ้ะ พี่ปุ๋ยบอกเสมอ ไม่ว่าอย่างไร ให้เป็นตัวของตัวเองทึ่สุด ถ้าไปพยายามทำโน่นทำนี่เหมือนคนอื่น เราก็ไม่โดดเด่น พูดนอบน้อมแต่ชัดเจนได้ใจความมาก แล้วพี่ปุ๋ยก็ไหว้แบบถอนสายบัว อย่างเท่ห์เลย

Ese 1988 Por error de dedo invirtieron los lugares en la tarjeta pusieron del 3 al 1 en lugar del 1 al 3 y la verdadera elegida era la mexicana Amanda Olivares. Los jueces se dieron cuenta del error pero ya no quisieron revertirlo era tv en vivo y por temor al escándalo ante millones que veían por televisión el evento donde estaban coronando a la asiática que le correspondia el 3er lugar que horror! Años después en entrevistas lo reconocieron públicamente los jueces que participaron en esa ocasión incluido a Fernando Allende quien fue juez también. En este Año 2015 que cometieron un error muy similar aplaudo la corrección, es lo mejor!!!.

Because that's from the eyes of jealousy, you won't be able to see anything but jealousy. Her costume has so much details in it than just 3 seconds that you saw.

Nice opening but only 66 delegates was a low number of contestant maybe could be taiwan was not recognized for lot of country could be a reason bout that low number of delegates

One of the costume judges said that the dress reminded him Queen Sirikit (King Rana IX's queen consort and King Rama X's queen mother)'s formal dress which was so stunning gorgeous.
