Esos opening de aquellos años donde había estética romántica de los cuales quien se perdía una presentación de estas muy difícil que era volverla a ver, pero gracias a este medio podemos volver a recordar esos momentos agradables.

I never get bored watching this video. Miss Puerto Rico dancing is very gorgeous. I am just static when she dances. And she's very classy, together with Miss Norway, which looks like a doll. The song is very good also.

Miss Wales and Miss Ireland were excellent dancers. Very effective, charismatic, and left quite an impression in the opening dance.

I thought the top three should have been MU - New Zealand, 1st RU - Norway and 2nd RU - Chile. They were the most beautiful girls there that year.

I am Chilean and I remember that in 1985, the Miss Chile Claudia Van Sint Jan did not like the Chileans because they thought that she was ugly and too thin and tall ... Claudia left with a very humble attitude to participate in Miss Universe and She surprised everyone when she was among the top 10. She was too young and could not speak English and this was the reason why she did not get to be among the top 5 or maybe Miss Universe. (2 years later, in 1987, Chile had its first and so far only Miss Universe, Cecilia Bolocco).

es Van Sint Jan xD (tiene una belleza muy sinigual) y sí, mi compatriota es hermosa, pero creo que la verdadera competencia estaba entre ella y miss noruega (a mi juicio el rostro de la miss noruega era el mas hermoso de las escandinavas de ese pais en la historia de miss universo).

Es Claudia Van Sint Jan... y ella iba vestida de Huaso (traje masculino) y esto llamó la atención en la época... Al año siguiente, en 1986, Mariana Villasante uso el traje de Huasa (Claro que ambos trajes representan a ricos hacendados, jamás una Miss Chile fue vestida con el traje de "china" o Huasa Campesina)

asi es la miss noruega Karen Margrethe Moe era tambien una de las chicas mas bellas de ese año de hecho tuvo excelentes puntuaciones en traje de baño y traje tipico aunque no se sabe por q no logro clasificacion tambien paso por el miss internacional

El traje era de Huaso (traje masculino) y se "feminizó" con el ramo de copihues, eso llamó mucho la atención en la época... Y en ella se veía muy bien.

+raymond alicea tienes razón! no en vano Deborah ya era bailarina profesional de danza clásica, perfecto dominio del inglés y tenía una seguridad en el escenario impresionante. Todos esos factores le aseguraron el triunfo, superando a otras candidatas más bellas como las reinas de Venezuela, Canadá, Holanda, Escocia, entre otras.

¿Cómo? ¿Consideras que era fea la Miss Universo 1969? Para tu información, era mi compatriota Gloria María Díaz, Miss Filipinas. Puede que no sea la más bonita ni en los estándares de hoy día ni del grupo de candidatas de aquel año, pero fue la única chica que dio una respuesta concreta y decente a la pregunta final entre las 5 finalistas. Mostró elegancia y calma al responder a la pregunta, teniendo en cuenta que ella no tenía más que 18 años. Por eso mereció ganar y ser coronada Miss Universo 1969. En fin, la belleza depende del ojo del que la admira. Así que tenemos distintas opiniones al respecto. Lo más importante es que respetemos a todas las chicas que pasaron por nuestra historia como las bellezas declaradas reinas universales, porque por algo y en algún punto de sus vidas se merecieron tales honores de distinción. Y esta es la razón por la que estamos todos aquí apreciando sus bellezas para todo tipo de gustos.
