Miss Chile's final walk there as she is turning around is so icoically perfect - her look, the wide circle spin, the way the music crescendos with her movement -- winner vibes, all around. Exceptional. I also thought that Miss USA was wonderful and her gown was gorgeous. And Miss Italy gave "star", as well.

Fun fact... Miss Holland Angela Visser competed in Miss World 1988 where she was unplaced. Her preliminary score place her in 13th/14th place, though only top 10 were allowed to move on on the finals night. Sandra Foster Miss Jamaica competed in Miss World 1991 where she was 3rd runner up

This is the last time that Sweden placed top 5 at Miss Universe (who finished 1st runner-up) and ever since then, no Miss Sweden has placed top 5 after 1989.

Yes Sweden and Finland were former powerhouse, dominating 1950s to 1980s. Finland last high achievement was third in Miss Universe 1996 and Sweden top 5 in Miss World 2007

USA was the most beautiful and she got a lower mark than all Asians. She was the favorite this year and didn’t even reach the Top 5. It was a strange MU year with no justice. At least Miss Thailand won, as she was beautiful and smart.
