So the industry FINALLY managed to create a high gain amp that doesn't need a TubeScreamer boosting it to sound right? Took them only 40 years.

The noisegate built in is something that should become standard on everything. Im not a periphery fan, but holy crap Misha knows how to build smart amps and then theres the precision drive, best pedal ive ever used.

Honestly dude, you are what has that backbone in Metal today. The metal scene actually comes to you for guidance for the best gear to use. You truly know what you are talking about dude!! ;) \m/

I believe that would be a djent/grunge mash-up and I kinda wanna hear that genre.

If anyone pays attention to these comments I’ve owned the EVH series and I’ve owned Mesa boogie dual rec. I sold both of those amplifiers to get this Peavey Invective 120 and I’m very happy about my purchase! Ola did a great job on this demo it helped my decision for sure. For me personally there’s no better amplifier out there that can handle so many different genres not to mention how aggressive the amplifier can get. The amplifier also has great quality parts think metal chassis and bias points for tubes as well as a built in adjustment for the bias. You can use EL84 or 6L6 tubes. This amplifier is a monster, it’s a no brainer for anyone from funk, country, to metal tones. Killer amplifier and demonstration🤘

I remember when I was a music teacher between 2004-2006. Peavey were the only amps that didn't get returned for repair. At the time, all of thier pro amps (JSX, XXX, 3120, 6505, Penta) were USA made and reasonably priced. It's a shame they shifted production to China. Great sounding amp BTW.

2:37 Dang that sounds good! My other guitarist just picked this up and it's sick! I have a 6505+ though, so I'd only consider this if something happened. Peavey definitely know what they're doing!

This amp sounds rediculously good! What I really like is the clarity and articulation of notes even with sick amounts of gain, man this amp is badass.Me wants!!!

Hey Mike, it's all about finding little pieces of happiness that bring peace and perspective to our current situation, isn't it? For me, along with Ola, it was watching old videos of when I was younger and playing in my rock and metal bands. Seeing how much passion and liveliness I had in my eyes...helped me realize there's no reason I can't be there again. Now I'm a father with two young kids and I've been inspired to update my old gear and get back to rocking and shredding. Rock on!

Well I usually don't comment on your videos because I simply enjoy watching them and don't need to say anything, but... this is the best tone I've heard from all your vids I think. Awesome man !

That crunch channel is the bees knees! Listening to you go through the channels demonstrates how dynamic the amp is. that noise gate does some serious work!

I just got mine last week and it's pretty hard to make sound bad. Of course you have to turn it up to get it to really open up. The clean channel is beautiful too. The built in boost(s) and the gate are impressive. So far I love it a lot. Mine does not say made in China, like this one. My back plate says in the USA with parts from other countries or something like that.

Infective!!! Finally a head that includes noise gate, MIDI and coffee machine :-) Sounds really cool. Thanks Ola for letting us know. I add that with MIDI, the 9V phantom and the dual fx loop you can keep all the stomp pedals near/aside/back of the head reducing the length of the cables-snakes with an added noise reduction.

Link Freeman James still uses the Mesa primarily. His "dirty" signal uses both the Mesa and Diezel. On tour they just use the AXE FX now.

Sauerkraut Stormtrooper You can check the retailer list straight through the Randall website, maybe you can find a store next to you that have the Satan for sale, but I guess they're kinda rare, I don't think they produced many of it

I've been waiting since I first read about these. That seems like a damn fine amp.

Definitely my favorite amp of the modern era!

the mixture of the wet/dryness is probably coming from the 2 different model speakers in the same cab (always the way to go with custom cabinets)

Now I´m just in love with the sound of this amp. I think the sound is so tight,saturated and clean is definitely a hit to the face. It is very well built with all the features even the output to record with your interface. I most say that this now is my favorite even the tones that I love like mesa dual rectifier, orange rockerverb or peavey 6505 or even 5150! it fix so well to play modern metal but well for that it is made! haha

Love the sound of this its nothing short of what it needs to do gotta love peavey!!

I'd like to see Ola tackle the dreaded Marshall mode four.

Ola! That first riff of the video.... KILLER!!!

Owned a VTM 120 years ago and that thing was rock solid. Only have a Vyper now for practice but it works great for that. Peavey gear is always solid. I was expecting to not love this but it is nice. I'm not going to sell my Mark IV for it but it will find its way into many rigs that much I'm certain of.

Man I love the 5150 and 6505, but so far the clips on the Invective I've heard are kinda 50/50. It either sounds absolutely amazing or like it's 100% pre-amp gain and plushy fizz. I'll just hope that one finds its way to my country so I can try it for myself.

Toby K. I agree. It has all those necessary features and all, but high gain sounds just fizzy to me as well. Clean/boosted clean is amazing, but it's not what a typical buyer of this amp will use the most I reckon.

Yep exactly. I really want to like this amp though, but I think it may be like the original EVH 5150 III when it came out. I didn't like how it sounded through videos and recordings because it sounded like 100% pre-amp gain and it was fizzy and tiny. But then I tried one in person and was pleasantly surprised to find that it's freaking massive sounding in the room. The fizzy frequency was still sorta there but not as pronounced as I thought. I just hope the Invective is sorta like that?

Lmao What are you guys talking about? All modern high gain amps get their gain/tones from the preamp. All of them. They all have super clean power amps and aren't meant to be pushed so hard that the power amps start to break up because it would sound like dog shit. We're not talking 1970's non-master volume Marshalls here, fellas.

This amp is a must have for metal and maybe even rock. The clean channel sounds solid.

This amp reminds me if the 5150 had the same features as Mesa Boogie amp. That's really awesome and clever. Good show and THX Ola.

I'm really upset that for almost $2k, its not made in USA like Mesa, Suhr, Music Man, Soldano etc

Trust me dude, it doesnt matter. I have one that wasnt made in the USA and it slaps hard asf and is still better than any other amp ive owned/own/have played. Ive had it for about a year so 10 years from now I'll come back and inform on how its held up. Well worth $1980

A lot of manufacturers went over seas way before peavey. Hard to stay ahead with the competition if you don't these days. I think it was a necessity for survival.

i preordered mine 1 year ago and im still waiting lol...was delayed 3 times for germany. I should get mine in June i was told...hopefully this time it really happens ^^

You gotta give Peavey and Misha credit for really giving the best bang for the buck. $1900 isn't cheap, but you sure get a lot for your money. Used you can pick one up for $1300, which is reasonable in my opinion. And you can grab the 20/5/1 watt version for $700 new, which is better for me as I dont need all that power. Great demo Ola!

Awesome amp but it's fucking expensive. If they made a 50 watt version for half the price or around the same price as the EVH 5150 50w.. yeah, that would be cool. Then they might be a competitor to EVH, with a 120w head they are not. By the way, what about your Satan 50w? I can't see it anywhere in Europe.

It's not all that expensive when compared to other new amps. Especially with the very useful functions that it has. And why would they make a 50 watt version when it's already 120w/60w selectable? Lol

I have one and it's awesome. I'm utilizing midi with a Line 6 Helix for effects and the 4 cable method with one effects loop. The other loop I'm using an MXR ten band graphic eq and a BBE Micro Sonic Stomp. Holy crap this setup is crushing! Also, Sweetwater didn't have the Invective 4x12 cabinet so I just bought a brand new Mesa 4x12 Recto straight cab.
