No dought he use to Drink very expensive Wine from Scotland which in them days on British Raj was able to afford. He spent all his pension on Alcohol. Strange thing is even today French and British pay pension to their great great grand children if still alive for the solders who served British and French during wars . So Mirza Ghalib elerd brother was serving East India company when he died the pension came to his brother . Company Bahadur stop it for short period but Bahadhur shah zafar last mughal emperors recommended then it started again . In them days he could still afford two servents I mean probably that was culture . Nasruddin shah wow will be remembered for rest of untill this world will exsist .

Heart it is, not a brick or stone Why shouldn't it feel the pain? Let none tyrannize this heart Or I shall cry again and again Neither the temple, nor the mosque Nor on someone's door or porch I await on the path where He will tread Why others should compel me to go? The illumined grace that lights up the heart And glows like the midday sun That Self that annihilates all sights When then it hides in the mysterious net? The amorous glance is the deadly dagger And the arrows of emotions are fatal

First time I heard this ghazal when I was 9 and now I am 36 every time I hear I cry a river for no reason. I guess that is what this ghazal meant to be made.I do not know when would it fed away?? I guess never....... It is immortal.. Feels like Ghalib and Jagjit are crying for all unfortunate things happened in his personal life.

That’s nonsense. He’s got more than his fair share in films, TV and theatre and has always been in a position to reject role. And everyone acknowledges his brilliant acting as much as his controversial one-dimensional views. Do look up the definition of ‘underrated’..
