Guitar: 1979 Manuel Reyes SP/CY (tinyurl.com/y25dwdnc)
Here's Miroslav Tadić performing his composition "Rustemul" which is based on a traditional Romanian dance. He's playing on a flamenco guitar built in 1979 by Manuel Reyes with spruce soundboard and cypress back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Tadić je fenomen, kakav maestro, obožavam ga slušati a muzika koju svira je dosta Makedonske i flamenca i mješavina balkanskih etno melosa čudne kombinatorike iz čega je on razvio potpuno autentičan stil sviranja..predivno.

He still moves his face and FYI real musician don't do theatrical faces some do it cause it shows their personality/ies...If i were to chose I'd rather see faces' expression than stone looking faces with no expression...Expression is musical too except some people get annoyed by it casue they don't understand a musician... Only a musician understand its kind...

@@Guitarramistica yes... well said, my friend... it's true - alot of guitarists make unconscious facial expressions - probably myself included although I've never had anyone point it out to me (thankfully) ... it's better to not make anyone self-conscious, I think, as it is difficult for some people to play for an audience without feeling self-conscious to begin with...🔥

The great thing about listening to Miroslav Tadic playing Rustemul, is that every time I hear him play it he always uses new improvisations, something that a lot of classical guitarists don't do on this piece, usually they just play the written part and that's it.

  • @robertcronin6603

Isn't it fairly common in classical music to feel pressured into *not* "interpreting" or personalizing a piece but rather just to play it as written or how the masters originally played it? It seems there's a school of thought that discourages originality when it comes to classical music...I could be wrong, idk

@@robertcronin6603 This is not classical music. It is folk music. 'Rustemul' is a traditional Romainian Folk Dance. I haven't played classical guitar _anything_ in something like...a decade now, probably more. This is one of the few songs I've heard that lit a fire inside me again and make my fingers itch to find my old guitar, tune it, play it again, look up new songs to download, print and pactice...even if I know rationally that I probably couldn't fit enough time with all the (WFH) commitments I have right now. Still...thanks for that. (Definitely leaving a comment here to draw the attention of the algorithm gods. Think of it as a cheaper version of burnt offerings).
