MIRAGE were formed in Randers, Denmark in 1982. The music is melodic and rocking heavy metal based on the new wave of british heavy metal -- but still with obvious references to the seventies. You can clearly sense the melodic inspiration from hard rock bands like Rainbow and UFO, but at the same time you get the shredding and galloping feeling og bands like Iron Maiden and Saxon.
As early pioneers of the Danish metal scene MIRAGE released a couple of demos and an EP in the first part of the eighties. Later when they were signed to a major label they re-released the EP + two extra tracks worldwide with the title "...And The Earth Shall Crumble". The band was touring intensively and was just about to break through, when they split up in 1988.
But in 2002 they reunited and released their first full length album, a compilation also entitled "...And The Earth Shall Crumble". The album contains all the songs from their 1980's releases. Lately they have occasionally reformed - for instance to perform at the Danish metal festival "Metal Magic" held in Fredericia And at MIDWINTER MELTDOWN i their hometown Randers.
