    If you guys don't want to vacuum the lines, connect them the way they should be, but before opening any of the hex valves, only slightly open the high pressure side, then under the low pressure hex valve, will be a valve stem, press on it until you see freon coming out instead of air, ones that comes out, open the low pressure side and that'll be set

    Helping to install one at a neighbors home. They are an elderly couple. From what I could understand it doesn't have any or need FREON? Do we need to have an HVAC guy come to do anything once we install it? Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • @rondemeio5337

    @rondemeio5337

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you install it yourself, make sure you have tight connections on your copper lines, you should vacuum the lines, some people do not so that is totally up to you, I always vacuum my lines. Then you will be able to use an allen wrench to crack open the freon valves on the unit. Once again I do suggest you vacuum the lines but as I stated some people don't. Make sure you're wiring is correct, make sure your drain line is at a slant so you do not get water on the inside. That is all you really need. Most many split units come pre-packed with freon to handle up to 25 ft of line. If you do not feel comfortable doing it then have an HVAC technician do it for you.

    Once it reaches the desired heat the compressor will kick off if you have the settings to Auto it will keep that desired temperature. If you have it set to cool then it will only kick on when it needs to cool to that desired temperature that's the same for the heat too. Just remember if it's on auto if it gets hotter than your set temperature or colder than your set temperature it will turn on whether it be heat or air conditioning

    The proper way is to vacuum the lines to remove any air and condensation out. If your lines are short somewhere around 16 ft or less you can get away without vacuuming it but you may put your compressor and other components within the system at risk or with higher strain. When you install your own system it's totally up to you, not vacuum in the lines could shorten the life of your unit and if you don't mind possibly happen to buy another unit in a couple years then go ahead

    This is a tricky situation, I found out that they don't warranty the US. So your best chances of repairing it is to call a licensed HVAC tech. You could try calling the company but I doubt they're going to send you any parts. These units that are being sold from Mexico into the United we're never intended to be sold into the United. Unfortunately though people's greed and customers not willing to pay a lot of money for a product has created a demand for these air conditioners. They're great when they work but repairing them as a nightmare because unless you find parts on eBay or other websites you cannot get replacement parts for these the warranty is only honored in the country of Mexico

Some 240-volt units wire up the same way and then some wire up where the outside unit is hooked up to 240 on the outside. There are plenty of install directions on KZread if you need help

    What wire information would you like to know? The wires are numbered. Here's another little secret about the wires this place is where you put the wires it doesn't matter what color the wires are as long as if you put say the blue wire on number one just make sure the blue wire is on the first pin in the outside unit too, so don't let the color codes for you the machine don't care about what color the wire is just as long as the wire is pinned out to where it's supposed to be

    Hate to bust your bubble, but you do not have a 6 year warranty on the compressor. Maybe you should of translated the Espanol before installing. The Spanish model come with a 1 year complete warranty and a 6 year warranty on the compressor ONLY IF YOU HAVE AUTHORIZED DEALER do the install. Also Your copper lines, both the gas a the liquid lines are Aluminum not copper. Don't believe me...... Go skin back the plastic wrap they have on the lines and see for yourself. The price is cheap because it's built cheap...I purchased 24000BTU. 220V. And it needs be installed at least 12 inches from the back wall. Google your model number and you find a installation book with a diagram showing 30cm or 12 inches away from the back wall. Leaving it where it is will make it work a harder than it should be. Good luck witt dat.

    Well you haven't bursted my bubble so we're all good, for me the warranty is good because I installed it I have a license so I get full warranty. Yes I already know that the lines are not copper that's how they keep the price low. Let's think about it, you're going to get a 1 ton air conditioner for under $500 when most of them the cell for $700 to a thousand. Yes there is going to be some shortcomings like the line set isn't very long. This unit has been installed for a while now it has ran all winter, summer, and starting winter again with no issues. If you're worried about where you're placing the outside condenser you want to consider more of placing it in an area that gets very little Sun been worrying if you get a full 12 inches of space. I have installed over 50 of these budget mini splits over the last 3 years and I have not had one complaint or one go out and I have installed multiple brands. I do expect to have a couple have problems that I might install in the future. Even name brand mini splits have problems. Look up the literature on any mini split and any manufacturer. I do appreciate your feedback I'm not disclaiming anything you said. They are sent with less and cheaper materials to save money which a lot of people don't need 16 ft of line set or copper lines. If you install it yourself you save money you may not get the warranty but you save money. If you're budgeting a $300 to $400 air conditioner and you're worried about a warranty after you screwed up the installation you probably should just pay for a name brand to be put in. The 12 in away from the wall is a recommendation it does not have to be 12 inches it could be 8 inches or 30 in and it will still work. The placement of the outside unit should be your most concern. Make sure you place the outside unit where it is in the shade majority of the time or you might have to build a cover to go over it.
