The best thing you can do is leave them a negative feedback and it gives you a few sentences to explain. That way, if someone is about to buy from them--- they can quickly check the negative feedback's of the seller first--- and your warning will be right there. I like ebay and have been using them for years; But I always look at feedback info before I buy things.

Thanks. I did that and no action by eBay or seller so i I reported them to trading standards. I have an appointment there next week. The supplier never responded. eBay did nothing except refund me (not even a refund from the seller). The item is still for sale on eBay. Someone has to do the right thing so hounding trading standards is the only option.

Ebay needs to lose a class action lawsuit for harboring scams. Until then they won't do a thing. I have had similar issues with them. When trying to report fraud on their site they just throw roadblocks in your way until you give up. they just don't care as long as they get their cut.

With electricity heading for around 40p/kWh in the UK - almost 3 times what France pays and 4 times what the USA pays.. if only such a power reducer doohicky thing existed! No joke but I am seriously wondering how to meddle with the meter! Consequences be damned! The not so great reset! PS: my friend's Zanussi dryer is still going strong after copying your fix - new resistor and 6 pin regulator chip!

Don’t need to know any private information obviously so neither of us get any attention from more obnoxious advertisers!! However, I am happy for you for having that kind of experience with Ebay because that’s how it should be. I have been using eBay for 20+ years and several thousand positive feedback. lol you daft bugger :-D I knew the plug was a load of old cobblers, but at least you got a high quality case to build a small psu in ha ha :-D (a joke of cause). The thing to watch is the pushing of so called "Smart meters" , apart from the utter rubbish they state about it helping you to save power. The devil is it's a computer that will calculate the power factor error and charge you for it!. That is the real use for smart meters. They are always nagging me, but I'm sticking to my non computerised meter.

There is a danger that they will charge for KVA, It's not a bad idea as the circulating currents in the grid waste a lot of power in transmission losses. They should legislate re OF correction in domestic goods. The tech is available and it would cost a lot more. The main problem is with large motorised appliances and cheap LED lighting. I bought strip LED light fittings from Screwfix. When I got them home i wasn't happy with the controller quality and the four fittings. (240Watts at PF0.6). I upgraded to the next lights same size but about £4 more per fitting . Much brighter, nicer controller and PF 0.95. The difference is that you need to use this type in a commercial application. They are much better value for money.

@@razenby Yes i know you are right, it's just a shame that everyone that uses mains power gets kicked for something they did not know about or created waste with out knowing :-( There should have been a govenment push for devices with large reactive elements to have correction. But no, this problem has existed since the start of ac mains a loooooooong time ago lol. I'm not good at visualising the problem created other than elements charging up and discharging out of phase with the mains waveform. And creating hell in the process. So please don't shoot me for not having your deep understanding :-( Ooow waste, my shower unit is crap, it heats water up to Hot, then it adds cold water to cool it down. The ultimate shitty design lol.
