Fyi for anyone looking for these games: their kickstarter starts Sep. 30. I plan on backing and I hardly back anything on there.

ticisgreat I hope their kickstarter is successful. I'd love to see what other "mint tin" games SubQuark comes up with.

Just got mine in the mail. Love them both. Pirates is my favorite, but the Aliens I play quite a bit with my daughter and it gets intense. Can't wait to see what David Miller comes up with next!!

Both games looked great. I'll back them. I wish Chaz would do more reviews. They're always very informative and comedic. Too bad there wasn't some kind of indiegogo campaign going on for a fuller season 2 of the pair of dice paradise.

I'm always on the lookout for games I can play with my almost 10 year old daughter (where does the time go?) And these seem like they'd be good pickups. Thanks for the review! My idea for a tagline: "until next time I'm Chaz Marler and may the rolls of your dice bring you to the Pair of Dice Paradise." *Insert flourish here*

Jeff Figueroa VeeBug and I have been playing a lot of Mint Tin Aliens, and she's currently 7 1/2. So, I think they'd still capture the imagination of a 10 year old too. (At any rate, I hope the review demonstrates the games well enough for you to make an informed decision.) That's an excellent suggestion for a tagline. I'll have to give it a try, after I get my flourish back from the dry cleaners.

The more games the "merrier".

That may not be the best closing line, but, I admit, it WOULD look good on a t-shirt. You pick a typeface, I'll call the screen printer, and we'll split the profits 50/50. (Well, 1/99 after we enact the embezzlement clause I'll sneak into our agreement.)

Jarb2104 That is good, and much better than the tagline I was currently leaning towards, "Join me next time when I'm going to just film myself eating an entire jar of mayonnaise".

Prefer pirates but I agree on rules in 2 points regarding draw/discard order and knives/guns affecting pirates and bombs/cannons making ship damage.

+David Miller (subQuark) Aliens is "ok" imo. A little too much luck for my tastes. Pirates is a GREAT little game but: It needs the rules tweaked to make it last longer. So far have not rolled doubles to bring the gold into the game and have never used the Ghost pirate as the ship ALWAYS sinks before you can ever come close to losing all your pirates. So: Good job on making these David! Why do you have comments disabled on the uploads you made for each game though?
