It's perfectly fine to apply a moisturizer as soon as the minoxidil dries. Beard oil is typically formulated for hair health, and is not usually optimized for skin hydration, but it can also be applied and will not disrupt the absorption and function of the minoxidil, provided it is applied after the minoxidil. Our skin is more than capable of processing multiple applications of different chemicals and products at once. It doesn't water down the effects. There's a guide in the Minoxbeard subreddit FAQ that gives some poor advice on these steps, and a few are completely incorrect. Several guidelines were established without any scientific evidence to support them other than some guy saying "trust me bro". That's where alot of people pick up this myth. Waiting 4 hours for many people will lead to increasingly dry skin which is not a good environment for hair growth. So if you find yourself with dry skin at all- moisturize. Do not wait. Apply as soon as the minoxidil is dry. I've found thay applying petroleum jelly to help seal after a moisturizing is a great technique and prevents further evaporation of the minoxidil. I do this every night, and saw great improvements in both skin health and hair growth.
