I was in the shower when I heard the siren, and my first thought was "GOTTAGOFAST"

We were about to make dinner but we heard the siren. And we do live in Minneapolis. That was a wild evening we'll never forget, too.

I was coming out of the hospital that day since I was in a car accident two days before that, and I was like “finally some peace at home” and then I heard the sirens 🥲 I had a fractured sternum and I was in pain…but I had to go downstairs for shelter. 😫

I watched from Uptown. Would have been a Major Tornado if it hit. I never seen wall clouds that huge close up.

This was not a tornado. That day had 11 tornadoes across the state. Mostly north and west of the cities. One did touchdown for about 2 minutes in Crystal. This could be the remnants of that mesocyclone.

Dude I was in Brooklyn center on Brooklyn blvd it was raining so hard and the sky was yellow!! Then it turned a deep orange and then red then went on to a browny purplish color as the sun set I got the alert on my phone that their was a tornado warning but I didn’t even realize that a tornado was that close to me I didn’t even know it was on the ground and was by the window when this happened I didn’t even want to move because I was so amazed I couldn’t even take my eyes off of it

Holy cow! Incredible view! This looks more like a microburst, which is just as bad. Lower wind speeds but lasts a really long time and can drown in them with sheeting sideways rain.

i love how in the background you can hear the old beaten low-toned west bank siren

i remember the orange sky, my mom had just gottne her car looked at and then we headed home. i noticed it was getting windy, but i just ignored it. later on in the evening, i heard thunder and then looked outside and saw the orange skys. i was terrified and told my parents. they said it was nothing and to not worry about it, the sirens turned on so then i continued freaking out, then they still said it was nothing then i went to sleep. luckily that didnt touch down

If you listen closely, you can hear the west bank thunderbolt!

I'm not sure if it was the same evening, but likely. I was in the Walker Garden with a bunch of other people, under the large plastic/glass roof, enjoying the evening and looking at the crazy sky, but then the sirens went off. When I got up to run inside, the other people just kept chatting, and one asked me 'what is this sound?' I explained a number of times "tornado warning, you need to go inside!" but they seemed not impressed and just looked around.....I ran into the Walker Art Center. Luckily there was no actual tornado on the ground or they'd all be dead now 🙄

i live in cedar i was wondering where did that orange cloud came from

...if anything you have a great view of DT Mpls. I took the same video but was located a few miles south of DT. Golden Valley had a very weak tornado that touched down and traveled a few blocks. It took a few trees down. The counties to the west of the metro took the brunt of the severe weather but where this thunderstorm hit, it was severe.

I was at US bank stadium when this occurred. We rushed to my dads house nearby in St. Paul to take shelter in the basement

I live 20 minutes north of Minneapolis and the sky was so orange and pink right before the storm hit.

thats not a tornado i storm chase all around the mid west and i was chasing that day there was no direct tornado in minneapolis when the sirens go off it means that there might be a funnel cloud but there was reports of 20 tornados that day in minnesota 3 out of the 16 was ef1 rated

It was a funnel cloud around Columbia Heights.

I remember being outside watching the storms then all of the sudden the sirens go off and the wind was crazy I thought I would die thankfully the tornado where I was was only an f0

I was chilling at my house with my friend that night, tracking the storm. Later we saw a big, almost huge bolt of lightning and I have some of the footage. Later, my friend went home because there was a tornado watch/warning (I can't remember which). Again Later 😅, we got wiped with rain and wind and heared the sirens. We ( me, my father, and my sister) went to the basement with the news broadcast on, stayed there 'till the storm/ tornado died down.. I will probably never forget that night......

Up the road in Fargo ND we had a crazy morning of severe weather hail and damaging winds

Me, my mom my sister and my brother were just chilling on friday night and my dad was out with his friends STILL driving to a place. And then we got an emergency warning thing. It was scary asf. It was so big but it wasnt that bad in my county. And i live literally right next to minneapolis.

Bro I literally just left Minneapolis (which is where I went for vacation) so I dodged a bullet

My wife said she heard it in Eagan it was very faint but it sounded before the Eagan one did

I was on my computer in the kitchen and My brother came and I heard the sirens go off and I go outside and saw tornado sky. WALL CLOUD. I was scared.

This is a shelf cloud, not a tornado forming. If there was indeed a tornado, it's simply not visible in this video and it must have occured somewhere else.

When the doppler radar indicates a thunderstorm that has a chance of creating a tornado a tornado warning will be issued.

@@westhuizenarchives2614 Yes, I am not doubting that, but it simply does not show up in this video. The tornado might have already occured, or it is completely wrapped in rain. Looking at the shelf cloud and huge rain curtain passing over the city, the storm looks like it became outflow dominant by the time he started filming, so it was probably too late.
