Well done Phil, it’s a thrill to first find the opal, but to cut a stone out of your own find, may not be the quality or size of bought stones but finding them makes them so much more special. My week in white cliffs gave me some of my favourite stones because I mined them. Thanks for sharing, always love the adventures.

I wish Texas had opal mines. I would be down in the dirt and the mud everyday. I have to buy all my opal from you guys. I have opal fever now.

Well you are not too far from Arizona. They have opal. They also have the petrified forest in which some turned to opal.

Nice Phil go to stones . I'm planning my trip to Coober now the crop is in the ground it won't be too long now. A tip for all that potchy stuff , Fishtank stones. Some catfish like bristlenoses and other fish clean your cool potchy gravel , with an acidic pH it erodes some stones too . Then one day cleaning or watching the tank hey what's that stone I missed. Keep up the good finds

Nice work mate! I reckon that andamooka crystal has a lot of potiential. It can be a bit watery but it would only take a slight bump in brightness to get stunning crystals. Keep up the good work :)

even though the locals didn't vocalize it, i understood that they have no opal that they're willing to part with. i can only try to imagine how gratifying cutting a stone from what you've managed to 1st find, and then remove from the ground. 🍻 ✌️🐝➕
