    why get a new generator for the power issues if you live in *Australia* ?! just invest in a proper solar installation! the amount of sun they're getting is insane and if you tend to it correctly it will last you for decades, with only the batteries wearing down. the diesel generator should then only be used for emergencies, after you got several very cloudy days after another.

    something to be said to having a reliable mechanical vehicle you get some new 4x4 and you will not be doing much in the way of bush repairs on it ( still using 3 johndeere tractors from the 70s on our farm and most problems can be fixed in the pole barn if not the in the field have one newer 2019 case and it is nice enough has ac gps and more electronics than i ever want to get shit on again)

    @@Jay-hr9ci Reckon you could get enough capacity to run a fridge and loads of led lights for 2 or 3 times the price of a nice genny but then you never have to pay for fuel again. You don't need all the latest lithium BS lead acid works well and cheep.
