I've been hoping you posted this tutorial! You're by far my favorite diorama creator, I've watched all your videos and your Red Dead Redemption sherif building inspired me to make my own RDR2 booknook (more so a diorama due to the size lol). Your work is always so detailed, usually simple, but with awesome results. I rewatch your builds over and over!

A RDR2 book nook sounds amazing! And you're spot on, my work is very simple stuff, I am a bit of a lazy builder, but I also want to create work that is doable for anyone wanting to have a go at it. Happy crafting Desirae! 🙃

Aaaah hoy hoy Stubenmuckel, allow me to assure you that this method is a very minimal struggle, I was using trial and error during the making of this video, the only little kicker is the separation of the twine after it's dried and it's not a bad job once you realize how much vine you can make in a very short time. Good Lord. You are next level. I went to Bunnings and grabbed a bag of Vermiculite. After a squirt in the Nutra Bullet it reminds me of the pebbly rivers of Rural Victoria, and unblended its like Ballarat. . Sorry, I get carried away when i get a new hobby. I can see myself watching your videos. Thats incredible work. ( a labour of love Id wager). And supporting a local taboot. Cheers.. Great stuff indeed.

It sounds like you're already off to a great start with your new hobby as you're thinking outside the box and thats where all the best and most ingenious ideas come from. You'll be hooked for life as this is a hobby which has vast amounts of food for thought, coming up with ways of creating something is almost more satisfying than actually making it. Have fun!! Thanks. Still in awe of your work - Yeah I do jump in the deep end. I do alot of led lighting (in miniatures, Lego etc) For the grandkids of course 😉 and Im nearly finished my first Diarama to showcase them. Your grass tufts were awesome. We seem so bloody similar its scary actually.(Dont worry, Im harmless. Married to Jane for thirty years and were both still smilin').I just chat alot. Ive just retired, the kids are all grown up so she lets me play in the shed a lot - as long as I leave her kitchen sponges alone. Definitely will be using your tutorials. Cheers, Daz. Edit - Started a channel last week, so Ill show you when its finished - with a shout to your grass tufts of course.

I am (enthusiastic) and I will thanks. Im pouring resin tomorrow for the first time. A murky (forgivable haha) pond with a littla crocs head and tail poking out - painting the croc now - wish I had your steady hands - These vines have given me ideas for a willow tree actually. Enjoyed the view from under them many times (a loooong time ago). Onward...

@@Mydadsshed I hope that resin pour went well, to be honest pouring resin makes me a bit anxious lol..I'm terrified of ruining hard work as I'm just not very confident with the pouring. I should pluck up some courage and use it more often! I'm on instagram if you are able to send me pictures of your work i would just love to see what you do!

Mandy, I stumbled onto your channel looking for vines (for my ruined church). Wow, quite a variety of builds, from suitably disgusting old mattresses to Steam Punk airships! Now I can’t unsee your hay bales, and of course I “need” to build some. Just subscribed.

A ruined church build sounds beautiful! I've not tackled such a build yet but would love to have an attempt, old churches are just a lovely building even when not miniaturized. Would you be able to tell me the medium predominantly used for your church? I'd like to be able to imagine it through your description. PS: Yes, you do "need" to make some bales of hay! 😀

@@dinkydioramas8349 Lol. So my 3D printer seems to be permanently under the weather, so I bought 4 church window frames and a rosette frame from Etsy. Apart from that, everything was scratch built. Everything was built using XPS insulation foam, which is my material of choice. It’s meant to be an old Gothic ruin, so no roof, just three damaged walls with small buttresses. It is in 1/56 scale for wargaming using 28mm figures. I’ll be using Verrotwood as the rules. You should Google that rule set, as it is a small folk horror game.

@@crhkrebs It sounds like a very beautiful piece of work, XPS is a great choice, it has to be the most versatile building medium you can possibly use. I had a look at Verrotwood and am intrigued by images of old West towns people have created to play on...I'll have to look further into it, it looks like there are a lot of unique builders out there creating tabletop boards and pieces for Verrotwood.

Wow. Super realistic. Way less cartoony, than the fat vines I've been making. Nicely done

It amazes me how on such a tiny scale a miniscule woodchip can become an almost perfect leaf, I suppose it's why I love to use natural scratch items, as nature seems to sort itself out when you base your work on natural mediums.

Hi! Im absolutely in love with your work , Im very new to diaroma and i do love crafting however im hung up on making a weeping willow tree branch , could you offer an expertise to give me some ideas possibly? Thankso much i love your videos

Hello again! I've never made a willow tree and have thought often of creating one. I believe you would have to decide before making the tree if you wanted to be accurate or use trickery to create the tree. The gentle curve of the branches would likely be best made with wicker, and I'd steam, then curve them, then use a similar technique as the vines to create the hanging leaves/branches. I really should work this out and make a tutorial. I hope my answer helps a little. 🙂
