Miniature Railways of Great Britain The Halesworth and District M E S April 2016

While in the Ipswich area at the weekend for a BFS AGM,we managed to visit this Model Engineering Society on the Sunday.
Another great morning playing trains and having a good natter. We liked there idea of a purpose built road way to allow the traction engine owners to join in at there club site.
Thank you all for a very enjoyable stay with you.
Many thanks to David for allowing us to drive his lovely Fairburn.

I like how the line runs through the workshop. Lovely LMS tank. Clever layout, one circuit of the line gives you two laps in effect.

+Steve Lewis Video Channel. That is very unusual using the workshop as a running line and tunnel, but a great idea if you get a rain shower, just pull up into the workshop. We would have loved to take the Fairburn home with us Steve, never seen that model done in 7 1/4 gauge before.........Best wishes Chris.

+David Howarth Hi Dave,We have a very enjoyable visit to this club, very friendly but you find that at most clubs. The track layout of the raised track was different, that's a first for me driving through the workshop.Rosie didn't need asking twice to have a drive,I don't like being filmed really Dave.Great weekend roll on the next one,not long now......Best wishes Chris.

Most clubs have a hydraulic lift, you back your car or van up to it,then off load your loco. The loco can then be raised or lowered to the track. You can see this in operation on my videos from the Nottingham club.
