Hey Benny, I’ve been 4wheel driving in Australia for nearly 30 years, in all weather situations and from tassie west coast to vic high country and up to cape York and everywhere in between and I would say with decent tyres you should never really have to worry to much about getting a puncture let alone needing to carry 2 spares you might consider carrying a tyre plug kit instead if you’re worried. A front winch with plasma rope not steel cable will save on weight and easier to handle. Make sure you have or make/fit some decent recovery points on the front and rear. I find some type of rear drawer setup is very handy as long as it’s lightweight. Recovery boards/ maxtrax are handy. Rock sliders/ strong side steps are great if they are solid enough to stop panel damage from ruts/tree stumps when rubbing past them. Diff locks or good lsd diffs make a huge difference especially on cars that don’t have much suspension travel, so when you lift a wheel at least the other one will still drive. If it doesn’t have diff or gearbox breathers that vent up high , fit some. If you get into deep water / mud playing consider a snorkel beforehand.

Well said cobba
It's always nice to have all of them fancy tools, you might not "need" them but for someone who does the job everyday it makes life so much easier than having to get creative with limited tools.
that silly little thing is so cute. it looks like a Lada Niva and a Pajero had a one night stand
Obviously there will need to be a joint trip with those two guys from the "best 4wd channel on KZread" !!! Looks like a fun rig
Nice rig Benny. Keep em coming 😎🔥
Hey Benny, awesome little rig. Looking forward to seeing transform. Thanks for sharing.
Nice and sensible plans for this awesome vehicle 👏
Nice one Benny.
Good to see someone made video about Pajero Mini.
Those wheels look great! Certainly adds to the unique style of a Pajero Mini
Looks good benny! I'm trying to get my first 4x4 looking towards a jimny I love the look of the small 4x4
Love the mini Pajero mate I got to see it at C&C and it was very cool. Also really enjoy these videos where you just buy a car and show what your process is in doing a full service and inspection. Keen to see more of it 👍🏻
More parts to store to the end of time , i love it
Particularly enjoyed the music and commentary in this episode. 👍🏻 👌🏻
Love the mini Pajero those rims are perfect! Mix of JDM rally and OEM stying. Look forward to seeing more on this 4WD
I would suggest doing a solar panel on the roof to help charge main battery and or auxiliary battery, especially if you are going to run a fridge.
I have wanted one of these since playing Gran Turismo 2. Good Job 5/7!
Another top vid mate.
Looks better already
Go go tiny 4WD. I'm super happy that you decided to go for a 4WD project :)
Can’t wait for more videos for this rig
Nice video! I have a 96 4wd coming from Japan.
Just bought a 97 Pajero Junior, this video definitely will guide me on preventive maintenance. Looking forward to your build.

У меня тоже Pajero Junior. Привет из Сибири!
They are sick lookin wheels, suits it well
Thought those Galant wheels looked familiar! New ones suit though. Funnily enough, I remember coming across a forum post from a guy with a Pajero IO (don't know the ins-and-outs, but it looks identical!) who used 16" FTO wheels on his. Never been much of a 4x4 guy, but this little thing looks like a lot of fun.
I love small 4x4 cars! My elderly neighbour has a Jimny i'm eyeing, hoping to buy it from him :)
Hey man, love that you are working on this, I own a 1995 VR2 myself. Can you provide a list of all the fluids required for the diffs, transfer case, spark plugs, etc?
Needs to do a bush trip with a Jimny and a Kei Tip Truck.😀
mine is coming in on monday, im pretty excited

Really keen on the Pajero and I've only learnt they did a mini one after seeing yours here. From experience I always find changing fluids, giving it a service etc is a great way to look around your new old car. I recently picked up a UK2000 Impreza as a light project and getting stuck in doing the above has made me more confident working on the car after years of Fords!

They have the Mini, and the Pajero IO which is a larger(400mm), 2/4dr with the 1.6 mirage engine or 1.8 lancer engine
Best 4 wheel drive show on youtube. 😆
Great vid Benny. Tyres look like a bfg km2 knock off. Near on identical tread pattern. Sweet little rig

Great little rig Benny. You might be able to utilise an ATV with with dyneema rope with the Paj being so light.

Amazing what difference some better offset wheels and binning the roof racks makes
Looks like a fun little ride. Do you worry about how wheel center fits on the hub at all? Any thoughts on hub centric rings for wheels?
It's so cute! That's what she said!
my GOD this thing is CUTE
Where can I get the gold socket from. Loving the new content 👌
Very cool little 4x4 Benny. Is this your first foray into off road vehicles?
benny i had the blue model with ABS brakes and it had a factory LSD rear .

I’m still yet to find a diff :(
Man I've always wanted a Pajero iO ... This has def re-jigged that want lol
Holy hell, I only realised how small it is when seeing it on the lift
Love it, what an awesome little rig! So does Pajero Mini translate to Lil Wanker?
5:14 Happy hour with the forbidden kool-aid. Joyseus, it's everywhere.
Man you need to import a Suzuki SJ30 next. Braaap.
Learned the hard way with wheel nuts and almost lost all four wheels lol stopped before the car bodied itself thank goodness.
Never seen a Pajero mini before seeing your last video. The next day guess what I see. Another Pajero mini in the wild. Crazy coincidence 😂
Thanks for detailing the safety stuff. Plenty don't consider it.
The trick to stop oil going everywhere with these japanese cars and their inverted oil filters over components, is to drain the filter first and catch the oil, then remove it. Punch a vent hole in the top of the filter end, then a drain hole in the bottom of the filter end.. Have a cutout (lengthways) 2L milk/juice bottle under it when you pull the punch/screwdriver out of the lower end. This will work to drain the filter enough to prevent oil going anywhere when it's removed. With the cutout juice bottle, keep the handle end intact with lid (like a funnel) and remove enough of the rest to make it like an extended tray/ramp to the funnel (2cm high walls).. The handle makes it easier to hold ..
That spare wheel cover would look good mounted up on the wall.
Need to do a 4x4 trip with Marty and Moog on the best 4wd channel ever 🤣
Mitsubishi colt version R use that style oil filter too i believe
I must ask, is the side pipe factory? If so that’s bloody cool
@BennysCustomWorks

No, it was done previously and isn’t great. Will get fixed asap.
Dunno if it is still economic to do- we used to mod EA/ EB Falcon sedan diffs to fit in Sigmas, early Dunnydores, KE 70's- used to pay maybe $50 a diff, another $100ish changing mounts etc, and gave a bigger range of LSD packs & ratios
Do I see a BCM Paj VS MCM Jimny challenge in the future
while i remember, if you cant find a spark plug part number, it cross references with a Harley Davidson 883 i believe
I was today years old wen i learnt there was a minny pajero . Now i need one in my life
what type of gear oil or automatic transmission fluid do you use
Do they make a EVO Rallyart body kit for them?
Where did you get your brake bleeding kit?
The rear diff is hanging, so the oil level will be a smidge low, on the bigger stuff it can be a couple of hundred ml difference
as you are such a fan of small JDM nuggets how about doing something with a small ADM nugget specifically a Mighty Boy
This time on bennys world 🤣
I see a big block swap coming
whats the difference with pajero mini 3at v 4at transmission ? can we replace 4AT with 3AT ?
been seriously considering buying one of these. Would you say parts are easily obtainable and cost effective? expensive? live in the us. thanks for the content.

Not currently sorry
For a air compressor grab one like the Milwaukee tyre inflator (the bigger one), I use them to pump up my 33” tyres on my Patrol from 15psi to 40psi no problem Much better than a ARB compressor that’s fitted directly to the car That way it can be moved from vehicle to vehicle and used all around Also had nothing but dramas with ARB compressors, over time they either fail entirely or have constant air leaks
@bingysbackyard
Жыл бұрын
My aircon wasn't working so I removed the condenser radiator to fit a intercooler for the diesel I the front...then I figured I might aswell use the air con compressor for a compressor so I hot a old blown up shed compressor and removed the electric motor and compressor off it and mounted the 50 litre tank in the back of my 4x4 still with the switch assembly attached and wired the air con clutch up to the compressor switch so it cuts the clutch off and on at 100psi... it worked way better than I expected it to.. it can pump a flat 38 inch tyre up in about 5 minutes from zero pressure in tank
You gonna do a collab 4x4 video with Marty and moog in their little 4x4 nuggets?
Is it easy to get spare parts?
Yewww
How much did you pick up this car for?
Isn't z436 the EJ Subaru equivalent?
13:15
Z436, good enough for an FD RX7, good enough for a Paj.

This may be as close to a 13b as I get :D
That oil filter is just a thimble.
I've had a front wheel lock up at about 20-30km/h, that was bad enough, trust me you don't want to do it faster
Looks good leave the rack off
two words: nugget.
' always take the filler out first ' .... if you only learn one thing from this episode , make it that nugget of good advice
Владею такой машиной уже 15 лет. Много всего в ней ремонтировал, так же купил самоблокирующиеся дифференциалы. Задавайте вопросы.
Looks isn’t what wheeling about, it’s having everything yah need to get in and out (my opinion)
oh you can just legally put different wheels onto your car? that is such a hassle in Germany... every single wheel needs the proper paper work- and especially for less common cars those papers just don't exist- so you are stuck with the original wheels forever..

The wheels do have to meet some requirements, but nothing nearly as strict as your TUV
