The actual new content is probably being tested here with no restriction for some community feedback, so they can maybe polish it and add it later if it fits the game and if it works good enough.

A point that people seems to forget is first the facts that this updapte only come to Java édition so easier to make Second its mostly reuse things and third they said that for updtate they need to think of all people will react with april fool they can just dump dumb idea

Honestly most of mobs blocks structures and biomes are all just retextured from preexisting mobs blocks structures and biomes and the original content that is actually in this update needs some play testing and bug fixing

So slabs can have fins and swim around but God forbid they make them vertical.

This is probably the sky dimensions with green stuff😂

You are missing a huge detail. You said it was an update, making some people think they simply need to start the minecraft launcher. This is not a full release but a snapshot. People need to turn this on manually and find the specific one with "potato" in the name.
