I love the use of the green and magenta terracotta, they aren't colours I would have thought to put together but they work well. I looooove the way that bdubs, joel, and impulse are each focusing their builds in different styles of the broader cyberpunk aesthetic. Impulse is going hard into the cybernetics, bdubs is going hard into the street anarchy run-down punk aesthetic, and it looks like Joel is going into the japanese style that's deeply integrated with the cyberpunk aesthetic broadly. Very cool

  • @unnaturalredhead1559
    @unnaturalredhead15592 ай бұрын

    I really like how well the three different cyberpunk styles blend!! I saw someone over on Tumblr saying that they felt like the torii gate up to Joel’s place adds a layer to the story of the city: traditionally, torii gates are on paths leading up to shrines and holy places. It creates a sort of class divide that meshes well with the dystopian themes: up on the hill, closer to the gods, is the well-kept fancy upper class area, but beneath that is the chaotic factories and rundown apartments of the vast majority of the inhabitants. Truly an incredible environ taking shape!

    Had an idea for lights around this dingy dystopian part of the big cyberpunk area, maybe something to do with glow lichens used akin to mold growing? It already looks very rundown, dirty, and unkempt. So you could totally use like moss, glow lichen, and something whiter with the glow lichen to look like patches of mold that has somehow inherited the glowy neon aesthetic of impulses section.

    Bamboo is easy to fully automate, plus once you get a string farm you can sell string and scaffolding. You can use the crafter to make all of the bamboo blocks as well. Slightly more elaborate is the plain terracotta. You can turn stone into moss, moss into rooted dirt, rooted dirt into mud, and finally mud into clay, which you can then blow up, auto craft, and smelt

    Impulse's build is very techno-future, and Joel's is going for Neo-Tokyo, but Bdubs brings the punk to cyber punk with this. It certainly feels like it would be entirely in place in cyberpunk 2077 or other similar dingy cyberpunk cettings.

    I actually think that having elevation in the city would be very cool, not just hills and stuff but retaining walls and steps to get up places. It would add a lot more opportunity to have little crooks and cranny’s and in my mind that’s always a win

    The city is gone be cool! If you guys haven’t planned in detail already, I would consider getting together and laying things out. Throw down markers for the roads and some rectangles for where buildings will go. Then you guys can both chip away at it over time and things will connect fluidly!

    Idk if u are aware of this small building trick, but it would help in the dystopian themed city u have going on: use a kelp block with green candles on-top to create ‘trash bags’ which you can stack in alleyways etc.

    I think BDubs, sir. You have change the way to build in Minecraft once again. A dystopian city would look ridiculously amazing and innovative for other builds. This is something I never seen and I know for sure you have started the many different ways to build outside of the normal cyberpunk or medieval builds

    If your area is a rundown part of town some lighting ideas: fires in metal barrels or trash cans, flickering street lamps ( maybe some out of place more advanced technology ones around shops etc), red emergency/ exit lights in alleys. Maybe Emergency vehicles and/or a burning car if you want to get real rough. I also think grass, vines, moss would be more present than in other areas, nature kind of reclaiming buildings and roads that aren't getting repair and maintenance.

    Perhaps as a way to enter your other shops, the Hermits might deposit one string for the doors to open. Your string shop could then be named "Stringing You Along."

    Maybe for some lighting in the dystopian building you could use glow lichen? Keeps the light levels above 1 to prevent mob spawning, but keeps the light level low enough to have the dark, dingy, feel to the build
